BukiMiyu First Impressions

I am doing my last bit of schoolwork, just very slowly.

Tried to watch BukiMiyu today. I probably could have got most of it without watching the corresponding episodes because the tennis matches weren't as complex as the ones in SeiRu, where you had no idea why Eiji was in trouble if you didn't know the storyline. You also would have no clue what Yuuta's issues were without the explanation. The most difficult part about BukiMiyu is Akutsu because he's a bitch. Possibly also Dan but figuring out he's obsessed with Akutsu isn't rocket science.

So far I have no serious problems with the new miyu boys. I miss Sota terribly as my Inui and I don't think the new guy manages to fill his shoes just yet. The new Momo is on some serious happy crack and far more bouncy and jubilant than MoriEiji, but he lacks the edge that MoriEiji could put on when he was being serious or angry. I love the new Eiji and Inui and agree that they have a different sort of chemistry as the Golden Pair than Nagayama and Tuti. But the new Eiji doesn't put on as much of a show as Nagayama always did. Nagayama could do so much with his legs and his acrobatics wowed me. The new Eiji doesn't do it as much. Yuu is certainly a pretty choice for Tezuka but I think he's too used to playing the backseat male role, such as Tuxedo Mask in the SeraMun miyus. He just doesn't make me think "buchou" the way that TakaEiji did. I do thik that Yuu sings better. The song he sings in the middle "Semero, Tsuyoku Nare!" was beautiful. Ah, Fuji. Sorry new guy's no Kimeru and though he's delicate and gorgeous like Fuji, he doesn't have the attitude down pat like Kimeru did. Kimeru really made me think Fuji whenever I saw him. He was just good at it. The new Takashi's fine and the new Kaidoh is acceptably frightening even if he's not my grumpy Naoya.

Yay for all the SeiRu scenes. I love KENN so very much. He makes me worship Yuuta, and I just groan whenever I see Yuuta in the manga or the anime. KENN's Yuuta is so much better. All of the SeiRu boys rock. I don't know enough about Yamabuki to make a judgment on them, aside from the fact that Dan is a cutie. Oh, Yuuta having "Erabareshi elite syuudan" as his ring tone floors me. As does Yanagisawa humming "San ka shou." All of the inside jokes were just the best.

Great scenes during "Ikuze" with three teams on the stage at once. Gotta be a record for TeniMiyu. I love the way they do flashbacks in this one too, always switching from Seigaku vs. SeiRu to Seigaku vs. Yamabuki. It's a neat effect. The other SeiRu boys now get to join Yuuta in his "Ore wa Ore no Namae de Yobaretai" and it looks better than ever with them forming a protective circle around him and later circling Ryoma like a hungry pack. The Akutsu and Ryoma confrontations scenes scare the crap out of me. Akutsu can snap my chibi right in half. ;_; And he's so mean to Ryoma's fanboys. The signature tennis moves of the boys are starting to get even better. "Run Run Run" always looks spectacular and I'm looking forward to it becoming a staple like "Kore ga Seigaku." Though nothing will ever top "Victory."

I'll probably have more to say once I can compare with the Tenipuri eps and make some sense of the larger storyline. So far, it's fun but still nowhere as good as SeiRu. Some of the songs just didn't do it for me this time and there were less of them.

Hee, TeniMiyu always makes me such a happy fangirl. I doubt there's a stronger drug. It even made me forget about the Naruto 135 I was supposed to be finding. *glomps KENN since she has no Yanagi or TakaEiji*
