... well, that wasn't entirely unexpected
As usual my life has impeccable timing when it comes to wiping me out for the night. Ah well, I did acquire something to help with my computer problem just when I finally got used to using a desk like a normal person. I'll have to decide which is most comfortable now. I don't even want to think about how much work I have to do today. It depresses me.
I'm still a little... meh, seeing as I'm not sure what I'm getting into regarding several things. Two of these involve confrontation and being assertive. The third... I have no friggin' clue.
But Celiss says things about Lelouch that always make me feel better when someone says Lelouch is just like his father.
There's a difference between what Lelouch is doing and what the Emperor is doing, actually. On the surface it may look similar, but when you look carefully they're not quite the same. Lelouch is more of a "if you have what it takes, I'm hiring you, regardless of age, health, gender or race" (see episode 17). The Emperor's policy is more of a "If you're not Britannian, you're scum -- I don't care how talented you are. Feel free to apply to be a Honorary Britannian (snort) though -- scum >:D" thing, and he's quick to discard those he thinks aren't worth anything (Nunnally). Suzaku was something of a miracle, really.
Basically the biggest difference is Lelouch doesn't discriminate while the Emperor does. Lelouch wants to create a world where the racist massacres carried out by Clovis and Cornelia and probably other governors in other Areas will never, ever happen again. Lelouch leads by asking his followers to willingly believe in him (episode 1); the Emperor creates followers through brute force.
