Oh, and one is never too old to fangirl crazily. ^__^ You might be interested in Spice and Wolf: it's a slow, gentle, old-fashioned tale focussing mostly on just the male & female leads. BTW, the female lead is a near-immortal wolf spirit goddess thingee...and very wolfish in her characterisation.
