So yesterday I forced Gabi to watch Red Garden instead of Nabari no Ou. I am undecided on my decision. Red Garden is a potential yuri-fest, with some great characters, excluding the super annoying Rose. Though Rose is a much less irritating in the OAV. I liked the murder mystery plot and the group's undying love for their friend, Lise. I also liked the main villain. My problem with this is anime is that for the entire last four episodes the characters lose all sense of reasoning and motivation and mostly just stand around talking while people are dying. I'm also disappointed in the amount of fighting for a series that is labeled horror. Hell, Gankutsuou is more horror than this series, with the exception of the OAV. The OAV is pretty damn scary. But yeah, Red Garden: great potential, half-assed execution that makes me happy I only paid $20 for the set. I'm glad I watched this with someone so I could make my random yuri comments, which probably entertained me more than the actual show. It's been a while since I could make a running "they're so gay" monologue for the girls. It was worth it for that alone. Oh and Claire and her boyfriend are so cute. Claire is like a mini Blue from Wolf's Rain, and acts like it too. Her boyfriend reminds me of Ryo from Fake.

Here's hoping for more luck from Nabari no Ou next week. Marathon will have to wait as roomie's mom is paying an unexpected visit and the living room is probably occupied. Le sigh.
