I could write a better version of Gravitation...HONESTLY
Nayami: Ack! He dyed his hair.
Tom: Isn't he with that blond guy?
Nayami: He broke up with him.
Tom: Yeah, that way he can make out with the mirror.

One, I love Gravitation. It's one of my favorite mangas; it really is.
Two, I DO NOT LIKE Maki Murakami.
Three, Gravitation would be such a better series if someone other than her wrote it. I'm noticing this more and more lately. Most of Gravi's current fangirls don't care because you give them their shonen ai and they bounce around like morons, spouting praise and announcing their undying love for Ryuiichi. None of them ever notice how Murakami fucks up almost every single one of her most poignant moments with a stupid scene or just bad writing. Take things seriously for once, woman. I know Gravitation is not meant to be serous. But when you deal with serious issues even in a light-hearted story, you need to give them proper attention. If Shuiichi is afraid Yuki is cheating on him with Tohma, I want to see less of his off-the-wall antics and more anger/despair. If Tohma is really protective of Yuki, I want to see more of his edge and less of his "Oh, I was just being an ass" attitude. Even if this is their personalities, Murakami has shown both can act appropriately in certain situations: Tohma's sad moments with Yuki or Shuiichi's reassuring behavior around Yuki. It doesn't need to be this random. Why can't she be consistent?
Four, volume 8 just confirms this and I get angrier and angrier while reading. New characters? WTF?
Five, if you want to argue with me, I'd love to hear it. -_-

no subject
But I hear she wrote it to mock all other shounen ai manga, so I won't hold it against her too much.
I don't know...
Maybe... (not likely) the manga version could be acceptable (there is more sex for the sexually repressed fans, and also more happiness... oh Joy) But I never dared to read it, the drawing is confussin, the story is dull and I don't know WHAT is it about (I saw until vol4) Had I not known about the TV series I would have been so lost I would have dropped it after the first two chapters.
what can I say, it's fun the first time... you can actually like a character and loathe the rest... but the fanatism that has been born over it sickens me.
