Episode 2: Life meets Art

I like posting long reviews to fics I read on LJ pages. It's much more convenient than fic boards or fiction sites because the responses are quicker and actually seem to care that I took time to review their piece. You never get that sort of gratitude in other sites, mostly because the authors are more interested in counting up how many reviews they have and care little for the substance in the reviews. Whoops, whining. Bad Nayami.

I think my Lit class has influenced my characters, especially in "Marked" since that story is still in its early stages. "Dancer from the Dance"'s emphasis on amorality has really made its impact on me in the character of Raoul. I just hope that it's not taken as a generalization. I would hate people to think that the story is trying to equate animal's amoral lifestyle with that of homosexuals. Raoul is just weird like that because of his breed. I won't lie about the beast metaphor in the rest of the characters. It's common in werewolf stories but I enjoy it so, even if certain friends of mine do not. *won't name names*

I also decided to write in the actual wolves more to the story. It's due to my freaky idea of having Raoul spring a lobo wolf from the zoo and having him be all obsessed with it, a tie-in to my short story about his time as a wolf cub. Since then, Esperanza has started to play a pivotal role in Raoul's path to joining normal society. Of course, I had to add in the testy wolf to shake things up a bit. Can't have all the wolves fawning over my boy. That would be unrealistic. But I like discussing his conflict over fleeting happiness within the human world and spiritual happiness within the wolf world. It would almost be cliche if Raoul wasn't such a messed-up guy. The whole thing is really about him not being left out of anything, as I will express in my next chapter. All in all, it's pretty shallow.

Why I gave Marq such a wicked twist with Romulus is something I'll never know? Perhaps it's the same reason I made Romulus suddenly philosophical. Hell, the kid's 12. I'll have to work with the dialogue to make it acceptable.

Now, to decide if I shall include rival packs other than Luna Sangre? I can't assume that each pack would remain forever in their chosen city. They do move and stuff. I better make up some nifty names. I'll take any suggestions on those. They don't necessarily have to be Spanish, but it would be cool if they were. I guess I don't really have to have names for the other pack members, just give them some description and identify their pack.

That reminds me, I should have Anilise and Isis fight more often. And have Mayra and Anilise get into a massive bitch-fight that's broken up by one of the whelp-boys. I need more girl wolves.
