Pretty Cain/Riff icon like I wanted. That is all. For now, I sleep.
Ugh, I'm going to have to attempt to crap out a new layout of my own skills by sometime this week. Either Princess Tutu or Kaori Yuki works (Angel Sanctuary/Cain) . I'm undecided. Maybe a layout professing my unending hatred of Zutara. XD
Main character will be Raven, 20-something reaper that has the appearance of a goth punk and is fairly laid-back but not quite apathetic. Raven will take action if there's serious danger but he will tease-bitch about it. Raven is not his real name. He cannot remember his real name from before he died, which was due to a violent accident. As can be expected of my stories, Raven's backstory is not pretty. Raven believes in "maintaining the balance" and embraces his neutral role but events soon cause him to waver. While cheerful most of the time, Raven displays a very mature and somber attitude when dealing with souls and their dying vessels. He also enjoys most human luxuries.
Raven's "companion" will be Gabriel, a younger guardian angel (possibly late teens) that's fresh out of training in Heaven and knows nothing about humans or Earth that doesn't come from a textbook. Unfortuantely, Gabriel wasn't the most studious of fellows and only passed due to a his extremely compassionate and self-sacrificing nature. Such lack of knowledge will trip Gabriel up for a while. Although a poor student, Gabriel is extremely devoted to his teachings and the regulations of Heaven *except* when these come in contact with his caring nature. The dichotomy causes Gabriel much strife. He typically adopts the appearance of a college student. The thing to note is that while Gabriel is a doofus, he is no slouch when it comes to defending himself and others. "Rawr" as Raven puts it.
There will also be Faith, an 8-year-old girl who lost her parents in the car accident that should have killed her. However, a misguided and confused on his first day Gabriel interfered. Thus, Faith's destiny was forever changed. Her soul is in flux and up for grabs. Faith is precocious and found of bossing around her two "angels" as she refers to both Gabriel and Raven, whom take care of her. She is also fairly insightful. Faith may or may not have special powers. Sher prefers Raven since Gabriel is overly protective. Faith had curly burnt orange hair but her near-death experience caused a patch of it to go white.
Our main antagonist will be Kre, short for a longer name I haven't yet decided on. Kre is the son of a high ranking devil family. Unlike most devils who only have human forms, allowing them to reside on Earth, Kre's family retained their true devil form and simply use a human illusion to get by. Their true form is a dragon (specifics unknown). Kre is insanely proud of his heritage and loves corrupting the innocent. Faith's soul is his new conquest, and Kre is not accustomed with losing. Kre also shares a semi-friendship/semi-rivalry with Raven since they work the same areas. The friendship does not extend to Gabriel. Although devils are forbidden from warring on Earth soul, Kre does love testing the boundaries. He fools people into a sense of pity for him using the guise of a drug-diseased teenaged street urchin so he can influence them. Kre's prized possession is his family medallion, which he wears around his neck at all times.
I intend the storyline to be somewhat episodic with various missions for both Gabriel and Raven, with main storyline elements woven in. There will also be additional supernatural characters from each of their kinds. I'm still working on the general plot in terms of linear storyline.
