tempestuously: ([geass] let them be little)
First things first, AWWWWW.

Tried to get Reborn 2 today but mostly came back with Godchild 6 and Air Gear 2. Ugh how long do I have to sit through these boring people before the story gets good? Love Crehador in Godchild though. I think he's taken the spot of my second favorite character; I always enjoyed him in the regular Count Cain series. I enjoy his concern for Cain, even if he tries to hide it. Oscar is up there somewhere too. Cain's reaction to what happened to Riff surprised me, as I was expecting him to take it much worse. But nope, he's Kaori Yuki's boy so naturally he just goes driven and slightly crazed. Jizabel has sparked some new interest in me though. I had heard there was more to him than meets the eye, but now I'm finally starting to believe it, outside of Cassian, who will always be an awesome character. Cain's devotion to Riff is almost frightening; I love it! Well, Cain, who has rarely been allowed to keep anything in his life, would naturally be possessive of the thing he's always held most dear. Also, I know the end. I don't know the details. I would appreciate it if people didn't give me any not-spoiler comments such as "Oh it's going to get worse" and things of the like. I enjoy the mystery and suspense of Godchild.

I also laughed at the old Shoujo Beat interview with Yuki where she all but admitted she's NUTS.

Also watched my Terra e. Lord, Keith is such an enigma. I really liked the part where Sam was naming the birds after his friends, including Jomy. The rivalry between Serge and Matsuka is also intense. I was said that Leo and Tony act as the shoulder angel and shoulder devil for Jomy. I think the same might be said about Matsuka and Serge. Though those two are much less inclined to tell Keith what to do and neither of them is wholly innocent. It really got to me when Matsuka saved Keith from the assassin just to have Keith call him a monster. Why oh why does Keith have to be so devoted to Grand Mother? He knows the entire system is messed up; he just can't see any alternative to following it. As he believes, the people need it. I wonder what the story plans to do with the Mu girl. I was really touched when Jomy's foster mother protected her, after recalling how she had abandoned Jomy during that time. Aww they remember.

Well, look who's finally returned. *kicks LJ* The one time I get off work early and am actually happy and you have to screw me all night. I didn't even have my Oz yet since Bro futzed with the computer while I was at work and then passed out.

Speaking of Oz, I adore it. It's my new fix and I'm going through it like speed. Tom was shocked to learn I finished the second season in three days. I don't know why since we marathoned the first season in one. I've decided O'Riley is my favorite since he's like a Iago with a soul. He's one of the most fucked-up characters there, but I'm a sucker for the family guys. I also have a feeling he will survive, even if his younger brother doesn't. Second to O'Riley is Miguel since I like the whole tentative friendship he has with the priest (go B.D. Wong!) and you never really know what Miguel is capable of. Beecher and the twisted Keller bring up the rear in my favorites. Thanks to Keller, I'll never be able to watch SVU the same way again. What a bastard. But I enjoy seeing the crazy side of Beecher. I can't wait to see how he nails Schilinger for using Keller against him in Season 2. I also like McManus because I can't help but feel for the guy who just wants to give his prisoners another chance at life. He's just such an idealist.

I was reading my Cain Saga Volume 3 again and couldn't help but notice how practically identical the incestuous character of Dirk and AS' Setsuna are. I know Yuki has a common style, but this was like panel after panel after panel. Creeped me out. Oh I need to buy the rest of the licensed Let Dai when I get my paycheck today.

The new Geass cover art for the second drama CD is so cute yet disturbing. Nunnally is precious. Now if only they'd give her more of a presence/personality in the show. But I'm more about the kitty!Kallen in the newest Geass manga. I need icons of kitty!Kallen.

So last night I was privy to information that should have yanked me out of my slump by point of perspective, but it didn't. I'm beginning to think I should take some more serious action but I don't like to think about what that action is. -_-

I cannot help but be saddened by the tragic nature of Riff's character. It's just his general manner and the way he speaks and the design of his devotion. It's too soft, too fragile. It says "I'm foreshadowing. I will lull you into a sense of fluffy friendship and then SNAP!" I also know he's doomed because that's how Yuki rolls. People hinting that bad shit's going to go down with him kinda goes over my head since it's obvious. I wonder if Angel Sanctuary 15 is out yet. I wants more Lucifer.

I saw someone mention no matter what couple you enjoy in Naruto, you cannot help but adore Iruka/Kakashi. Actually I can. Because see, I found both terribly dull together. They're cute when interacting with the children. Kakashi's cool when interacting with other adults. But the thought of them snuggling and whathaveyou. Bleh. There's far more chemistry between Kakashi and Gai but Gai isn't pretty so he gets kicked to the curb. I have never liked KakaIru even when I first got into the series. I saw art and I was like "And?" I think it just promises too much fluff for me and not enough bite. Maybe if people stopped drawing them like married couples and put more NINJA into the artwork, I'd be more interested.

Manga Goals for the eve:

-Here is Greenwood catchup (3-5)
-RG Veda catchup (2-3)
-FMA catchup (2-4)
-possibly random shonen ai tossed in there

Pretty Cain/Riff icon like I wanted. That is all. For now, I sleep.

Ugh, I'm going to have to attempt to crap out a new layout of my own skills by sometime this week. Either Princess Tutu or Kaori Yuki works (Angel Sanctuary/Cain) . I'm undecided. Maybe a layout professing my unending hatred of Zutara. XD

Random notes for Angel/Reaper story that's still floating in head. )

Good God, the Kafka chapters of Count Cain nearly gave me a heart attack. Cain and Riff are both bastards! I'm with Merry in the yellings. I cried. Though Cain dressed as a woman is a hot idea. I still want to know who bit Cain aside from Julianne in that one part. I also wish that Kaori Yuki didn't have to be so subtle with certain sexual events. I usually can't even figure out people were having sex unless she comes out and tells me. I had no idea Julianne was having sex with her father. I never thought incest could be a more significant element of a story than in Angel Sanctuary. This series does more than embrace incest; it has a friggin' orgy with it. Yet, I am not as perturbed as I was when I started Angel Sanctuary. I just love the style of Cain, the mysteries, the characters. It's so damn addictive. They need to translate the first chunk in the states. You hear that, Viz. I watch your semi-decent dubs and buy all your other hit-or-miss manga so bring me more Cain. Maybe then I might be able to understand more than half of what happened in Kafka. I need a breakdown or a synopsis, I swear.

I probably need to go find me a Cain/Riff icon or make one from the pics I snagged off 4chan.

Final manga update for the eve. All manga goals have been met. I will be tracking down the original twofive volumes of the Cain Saga at Otakon since I love Godchild dearly after this first volume. I have no idea how I will acquire translations. Perhaps, I shall beg. I love Kaori Yuki though. She's about as insane as all the mangaka out there but she is actually *good* at telling a story. I never understand how but she always manages to join plots and work in the usual elements without anything seeming contrived. And even if her penchant for incest does perturb me, she can portray very powerful, emotional relationships that almost transcend the limits of definitions of love or friendship. Back to Cain, I had no idea he was so young or how blatantly Yami no Matsuei ripped the Muraki/Tsuzuki relationship off the Doctor and Cain. I must say that Cain is ten times more gorgeous and alluring than Tsuzuki. I still like Tsuzuki though. He can be cute.

La Esperanca, you have failed me. What the hell was that thing you called a second volume? Hells. I don't even know if I want to dare pursue a third. I might resort to checking it out first in a store. Her Majesty's Dog, you continue to intrigue me with the quirkiness of your storyline even if your characters aren't all that unique or appealing. I think I like the main girl more than I do the demon-dog and only because the demon-dog is cliched as all get out. Shaman King, I love Ren. Give more men repentent "I have sinned and am going to atone for it by finding my own Shaman way" Ren.

Now all that's left is eventually getting back to RG Veda (to decide if I want to continue with that one), FMA, Here is Greenwood and a healthy helping of assorted shonen ai/yaoi/teasers (Cafe Kichijouji, Love Mode, Antique Bakery, Lies and Kisses, Skyscrapers of Oz, Our Kingdom, Kizuna, Selfish Love, and Il gatto sul G) Yeah, I realize I'm pretty shitty when it comes to reading my unknown pron. I want to read some of them before Otakon so I can decide if I want to continue any. It's always easier to find the speciality manga at the cons.
