GIP: You probably don't want to know how long this took

So I learned that aside from our initial welcome to X world with the smexy Fuuma vs. Kamui fight, we've had absolutely no decent shots of Kamui and Fuuma together. Quite an opposite from the plethora of Kamui and Subaru we've been given. So I took it upon myself to generate an icon so I could remember what my original ship was.

Said icon required much trial and error, trying to find the two pictures that looked most natural togther or had enough of the character's profiles/heads that moving and resizing wouldn't be major issues. I decided I wanted Fuuma in the foreground since the majority of my Tsubasa icons are Kamui. Also, Kamui's short and it's easier to portray a more natural picture of him and Fuuma if he's in the back. Then came the fun clean-up, which sucked since the Fuuma picture was infinitely more mess than the Kamui picture and they came from the same issue and the same provider. Note, I am not blaming the scanner. I am in tremendous debt to her, it's just a "grumblegrumble" on my part. Along with the cleaning came the oh-so-fun eliminating the unimportant background (Kakyou included) and my crappy retracing of things so they looked more shapely. I was quite surprised the pics cleaned up as well as they did when it came time to iconize. I'm also incredibly pleased with the icon. I think it's almost hard to tell that pic's a total manip.

it's weird Fuuma and Kamui are said to be "cosmic twins", yet Kamui ended up Subaru's twin in an alternate dimension XD; i wonder if its any indication of their idea for X.

that said, i've really grown apart from both Fuuma/Kamui & Seishirou/Subaru pairings. maybe its the exposure to more delicious Subaru/Kamui (they were always my OTP anyway) or time has done its work... i've reread Tokyo Babylon recently and i even felt repulsed i used to love SxS at all. >>; i just want Subaru & Kamui to heal and find happiness ;__;

Oh, I adore the vamp twins to bitses, but I also enjoy seeing a more amiable and less driven Fuuma, but one with still plenty of personality. I also think it's painfully adorable how Fuuma seems to vie for Kamui's attention (he enjoys their rivalry) but Subaru is always there, doing his "ehem, boyfriend" stare. Fuuma's reaction to Kamui's statement just reminded me how cute they can be.

I think the twins thing is just Clamp's way of playing with the intricate relationship they already established for Subaru and Kamui before they put X on hiatus. It is nice to see Subaru slightly more reciprocal rather than "Leave me alone, I want to die." ^^;;
