I am strong when I am on your shoulders
I thought I lost my phone today. Nearly suffered a nervous breakdown. Not so much because I would have to buy a new phone because while that sucks and all, I can get over it. No, I was freaked out because my cell was the only number listed on my resume. Thankfully, it was hiding very cleverly in my car. I find out thanks to the siren call of Chris Daughtry.
Upon taking into consideration potential spoilers for next season have decided I wouldn't hate a Kallen/Lelouch pairing. I prefer CC if he has to have anyone, but if they work with what Kallen and Lelouch have, it could really be something. Someone a while back pointed out how Kallen's decision to remain with Zero, despite her anxieties after the episode where Shirley's father dies, was really important to Lelouch at a moment when he himself wasn't sure what he wanted. Kallen has always been Zero's unfailing support, even before Diethard and even before she was completely convinced of his capabilities. He may give her the means to keep fighting, but she gives him the assurance he can be a leader. It only makes sense he always wants her just a step behind CC. She is truly his second in command. Maybe other's assumptions that Kallen is Zero's knight weren't entirely off after all. Aside from all this, the interaction between Lelouch and Kallen, when not donning their rebel personas, is something of equal complexity. This complexity is for the moment restricted to Lelouch since he's more aware of the situation than Kallen, but things should be interesting once Kallen figures things out. For now, I'm just intrigued at how Lelouch uses things he learns about Kallen while being Zero to try to understand to her and in a way relate to her as Lelouch. Zero wouldn't be able to confide with Kallen on such things since Zero is supposed to be above emotional investments. In general, Geass really needs to give us more interaction between the two, outside of "here have this shiny gundam now fight" so I can further shape my opinion of them.
For those of you who are befuddled at today's focus on ZOMG het pairings, fear not. I am in the process of sorting through my thoughts on the Keller/Beecher relationship in Oz and may indeed have an analysis sometime this week.
