Oh I understand why SuzaEuphie was there, even though I still like it, and I understand it was also there for mostly the sole purpose of breaking Suzaku and setting up a means for Suzaku and Lelouch's relationship to be all but irreconcilable. But I still wouldn't mind one official art. After all, the Gundam peoples later decided they hated AsuCaga, and they still provided arts of them.

I will admit that there is something more emotionally real about the LuluEuphie relationship. Possibly this is the way they can affect each other. She's the only person we've seen who can quell his vengeance lust and make him want to pretend to be Lelouch vi Britannia again. Even if it can't last. And as for her, she's willing to throw away her title so he and his sister can be happy and live in peace. So they can possibly all live together again. The way they are willing to give up almost everything for each other creates a bond that surpasses even the glancing scenes we see of them together. In just four episodes, we see a relationship that rivals any of the other "pairings" IMO. I actually commend the series for its ability to do that, even if it meant the SuzaEuphie side felt a touch more forced/artificial.

But to be fair, I don't think Suzaku had decided on his depth of love for Euphie yet and just wanted someone to believe in and be his light. Euphie was crushing but had some of Suzaku's quest for someone to be with her on her path to her goal as well. I think the reason that one doesn't seem as sincere is because it hadn't reached that point yet; it was never given the chance with the circumstances. This doesn't make it any less important a relationship in the series because of its impact, but it saddens me it's never appreciated by its own artists.

What do you mean? Because of the scene with Euphie in the school uniform? Other than that, things are mostly the same. I wasn't sure if that story was supposed to reflect the path of the manga or not.
