You don't even know the X fandom, newbies. We're dangerous

I feel better than yesterday so I might actually try to catch up on stuffs. But the poll asking if the X fandom is dead makes me want to kick people in the face. We're just not popular like Tsubasa because we're on hiatus, you morons. Seriously, X hate really infuriates me. X was Clamp's epic series for a reason. Yeah they screwed us. But in my mind, X will be superior to everything but Tokyo Babylon. Such is why I only read Tsubasa for X. I feel no shame in this. I even gave them money when I bought the Japanese Acid Tokyo volumes and the English translation. The Dragons are all I need. Ok Mokona can stick around too because he loves Kamui. As usual, don't diss X around me; I will cut you.

ETA: TRC!Fuuma, you're such an adorable flirt.

Checklist:

1. new Avatar
2. Gundam 00 ep 3 thru 5
3. rewatch Geass 25
4. will watch Baccano during vacation, possibly Gundam Destiny as well
5. sometime catch up on Heroes

Yeah, I saw that. I rolled my eyes at it, too. Honestly, X fandom isn't dead. There are so many people into it and reading it right now and who are continually popping up with things about it. No, it's not super active right now. It probably won't be until it's being produced again. Because uh, that's the bonus of having an active fandom. Unless you're something like Gundam Wing or FMA, a series that ends its run usually doesn't continue producing mass quantities of fic because -- it ends and people move on.

I started reading TRC after X and so my perspective is different and to me the most enjoyable arc in there was the Tokyo arc because of the characters. I like Tsubasa but I will never find it superior to X or Tokyo Babylon. It doesn't have the same emotional resonance and that's fine.

Your subject line is so true. XD I don't doubt that even now X fandom could fuck someone's shit up.

The Tokyo arc is the only part of TRC I read, and I'm really...uninterested in the rest of it. X just has a special place in my heart. It saddens me greatly when a friend disses it and I'm like, "Yes, okay, you can have your opinion, but does it really need to be said to my face?"

X will be superior to everything but Tokyo Babylon.

iawtcsfm.

What makes me even sadder than people dissing X is old fans who claimed they would LOVE IT FOREVER selling their X and TB stuff dirt cheap. I may not be that "into" X anymore (only because I was hardcore into it for over five years and exhausted most possibilities) but I still hold it dear and couldn't fathom getting rid of all my X stuff. Let alone ANY of my Tokyo Babylon stuff. TB will always be my favorite manga ever, the end. IT DEFINED PART OF MY LIFE.

But yes, people need to back off with the X hate. The things that are supposedly "better" than X are different than X. And just because something else is really good doesn't mean everything else is bad. Ugh.

I don't like TB anywhere near as much as X. For me, CLAMP's top 3 will probably always be X, TRC, and RG Veda. :) They fill my need for gory mildly maybe-gay stories.

I try to ignore CLAMP fandom in large, since I've never really gotten into TRC (and I still can't). I'm one of those hopelessly optimistic people who're waiting for the return of X. I love that series too much to give up on it.

THEY WILL NEVER BE AS HARDCORE AS WE WERE BACK IN THE DAY.

Not even on your flist, but amen on X being superior to all CLAMP series but Tokyo Babylon.

I still remember the smell of the manga when I first bought it...
