Yay, there has been good Geass fanfiction again! Loev
grendelity.
I was contemplating putting something up here regarding the pettiness of certain individuals because I actually think giving them attention would be productive this time. But I will bite my tongue.
Instead I will talk about Glambert. I think he shoots himself in the foot with his middle of the road explanations. Talking about how he wanted to make a statement and push sexual boundaries and then saying things like "I'm sorry if I offended people. That wasn't my intention." WRONG. That was exactly your intention. Making a statement is always going to offend people; it's going to offend those who aren't ready for it. That's the point. And I see nothing wrong with it. Man up and stand for your convictions. What he should have said was something more along the lines of "I'm sorry if I offended people, but not everything is for everyone." Nor should it have to be. The parents bitching about how he owes them an apologize need to realize how clear it was from very early on that Lambert is not exactly kid-friendly. Nor should he have to be. He wasnn't named Idol; he doesn't have to appeal to the mainstream. He can do what he wants. Ok, so maybe that performance wasn't right for ABC, but it was also not on primetime. I've seen worse on the Law & Order, NYPD Blue shows at that same time. Like Lambert said "I'm not a babysitter." That said, I think he'll still be fine. But ABC acts retarded saying that it canceled Lambert on Good Morning America for fear that he would do the same thing as the AMAs. I seriously doubt anyone believed Lambert would do the same thing on early morning TV that he would late at night. ABC, stop making yourself look brain-dead. You canceled him because you were trying to hedge your bets after allowing his S&M-themed performance. Just say you were pissed Lambert ad-libbed more in the live show and don't make illogical leaps.
Ugh, must drive home in Thanksgiving traffic. Will die.
