I got my Lost miracle. :)
I did not hate this episode. I am annoyed, but I will get to that. I enjoyed the silly pairings, mostly because I got my Suliet. I enjoyed Ben and Locke's gay resolution. I enjoyed Hurley and Ben being the new Jacob and Richard. I enjoyed the reunion. And most importantly, JACK DIED. It is the thing I always dreamed of but never truly thought would happen. But yes, good scenes with Jack and Locke, Jack and Des, Kate killing Smokey, Vincent lying down by DEAD JACK :( and Claire no longer being crazy and probably getting back to Aaron. Points also to not killing Richard and for giving Lapidus a point. Also, Jack died.
Now about the bad parts. EVERY SINGLE FORGOTTEN PLOT POINT.
1. Why do pregnant women who conceive on the island die?
- People give me some BS about how it's connected to Jacob/MiB's real mom but she died AFTER she gave birth so NO. NO ANSWER.
2. Why is Aaron special?
- NO ANSWER.
3. What was Widmore's purpose and why did he want the island?
- NO ANSWER. Widmore's actor doesn't even know if he was good or bad.
4. What was the light ex machina?
- NO ANSWER. No, it cannot just exist because it exists, THAT'S STUPID.
5. If Hurley is the new Jacob, that would make him immortal. It would also arguably make Ben immortal since he is the new Richard and his conversation with Hurley in alt world implies that they did these jobs for a while.
- So how the hell did they die and go to alt world heaven? Are they there on a coffee break or something?
6. What was the point of the bomb?
- If alt world is just heaven, it would exist with or without the bomb. This means the bomb did nothing since the island never sank and the plane still crashed. JULIET DIED FOR NOTHING. JUST. WOW.
7. What was the point of Hanzo?
- NO ANSWER. I will, however, dismiss Dharma from this questioning because it works as its own plot.
8. Seriously, that non-solution for Des getting off the island and back to Penny. Just what?
Those are the main ones. Overall, it was ok, but the heaven was a major cop-out. I guess it serves to push that the main part of Lost was never the plot but the relationships among the characters. I guess I can accept that, but I can also be annoyed. Honestly, I don't think I will watch this season again because it is superfluous and really serves no purpose to the plot or adds anything of real value to any of the characters. Or I'll just skip to Hurley and Ben becoming island gods and JACK DYING.
I want to see Josh Holloway in Snakes on the Plane 2: Electric Bugaloo.
