Do you like National Security? Do like knowing what your government is doing with your money? Do you enjoy having your mind BLOWN by the reality of this answer? Then 'Top Secret America' is for you.

Seriously, the sheer scope of this project is amazing on every level and the revelations are even more stunning. I love this stuff! Warning, this is long, complex and demands your attention to take it all in. But if you care anything about what's involved in keeping our country safe, you should read it. The writer is well-known and worked on the expose about the horrible condition of the Walter Reed military hospitals several years ago.

I am reading "The Way of Shadows" upon insistence by Graham. So far, I like. The characters are interesting and the world-building doesn't make me want to pick up any ice picks. My one complaint is that the book is LONG. Thankfully, it reads fairly fast and seems to have gotten some good reviews when it first came out.

My power went out last night for three hours and I was stuck with roomie, who thought my decision to watch "The Road to El Dorado" on her laptop was her invitation to tell me all about her romantic life. And cry about it. Why god why?

19. Favorite minor that decided to shove himself into the spotlight and why!

Hello, Tavores Destin. Tavores is Lucian's previous incarnation, a prince from a bygone age that was transformed into a demon. His entire purpose in the story is to generate chaos in Lucian's life by wanting to forge his own existence outside of what Lucian desires. His presence also gives Lucian demonic traits, a constant cause of pain and hatred. I love writing Tavores and Lucian's relationship. Sometimes they hate each other, sometimes Tavores is protective and sometimes Lucian protects Tavores. They are the ultimate in split personas. And with Tavores' blossoming friendship with Kat and occasional conversation with Dominic, he has taken on a much larger role than I anticipated. I only wish I could do the same with his twin sister, Reyna.

20. What are your favorite character interactions to write?

I love Dominic and Ty since it's one of the few times I enjoy writing Ty. Their relationship fits into my preference for knight/prince motifs. Dominic is the protector and Ty is the protectee who wants to do the same for his guardian. It's nice. As is Ty's bizarre relationship with Dominic's wolf form, preferring it over the human for much of the story. Ty's gradual opening up to Dominic and the almost brotherly relationship the two develop is what makes them especially fun. Ty is the person that Dominic needs to trust him the most since Ty represents his promise. Ty becoming more than just that promise is a major movement for Dominic's character.

I also love Erik and Dominic because they are such terrible frenemies, constantly distrusting each other, constantly trying to one up the other and constantly saving each other's asses. They're just delightful.

But in general, yes, I like writing my slash pairings, especially in RP. I also enjoy antagonistic relationships more than friendships most of the time.

21. Do any of your characters have children? How well do you write them?

I have written dumb AUs about Dom/Lucian's kids. One is a half-blind boy that Dominic adopts and the other is a girl for whom Erik acts as a surrogate mother. I think their names are Ayden and Kendall(Kendrick? i dunno) Since I was half-assing it, I won't say I did very well. None of my other characters ever have kids. Well, except for one but that's only for one scene.

Thanks for the link! I'm currently on vacation (and on a borrowed computer), but I look forward to reading that when I get the chance.

It is amazingly good and really unsettling at times.

For those keeping count, that's the closest to a compliment I've gotten from the crazy lady

I especially loved finding out about how many agencies there are and how much redundancy is produced. The examples that were given to show why it's a problem was stunning.

Of course, I can see both sides of this. On the pro side, there's the fact that we really don't want to miss any vital piece of information, so having more than one agency working on a problem shrinks that.

On the other hand, we have so many of them producing the same thing that, as the article states, no one can sift through all of that. It's disheartening and really should be trimmed down, but I highly doubt that will ever happen.
