Well, I had an entry on RP, but once I wrote out my thoughts on everything, I came to the conclusion that it's really not that worth bitching about since it's my own sense of unimportance. So we shall go back to the meat of that post and move on.

I have Mockingjay, but I have no desire to speed-read it and will be taking it at my usual 50-pages per day style. Hunger Games has never been about the conclusion for me but the chance to see my favorite characters (which don't include Katniss and Gale btw) again. So I shall avoid all the posts by everyone who did move through the book like speeding train, akin to how my friends once read Deathly Hallows over the course of one day at Otakon. I want a chance to think about what I read and absorb it so that I can actually enjoy it, and I rarely get that out of speed-reading. In fact, I bet I would have enjoyed the final Harry Potter book more if I had not rushed through it.

Ahaha, I remember that I didn't go to Otakon that year when Deathly Hallow's came out, partially because I preferred to spend my time reading the book. I did go up to Baltimore for a day to see some friends who had come down for Otakon, but spent the day in the car reading Deathly Hallows when I wasn't hanging out with them. I finished it very quickly (I think I was done in 48-72 hours), but I haven't read it again since. I want to reread it, but I'll wait until after the movies come out so I'm not all "OMG YOU CHANGED IT FROM THE BOOK" the whole time, since I've forgotten so much. It'll be better for my stress levels this way.

I saw this "Mockingjay" book in droves when I was at Borders yesterday. I saw it both as a promoted book and in the YA section. Is it a YA book?

I should re-read it too. I think it is actually much better than I remember it. I think I was just annoyed at JKR at the time too so that didn't help.

Mockingjay is the finale of The Hunger Games series, which is a YA dystopia novel similar to Battle Royale but not as graphic and more about the political fallout.

You probably would have enjoyed it less if you'd given yourself time to think about all the bullshit in it.

I'm still glad you got it for me.

I just have problems reading slow. I've always been told to slow down, but it's incredibly difficult and I have little self-restraint when it comes to books. I don't feel like I'm getting less out of the books, it's just...I read fast.

I think I'll re-read both again, but save DH for later before the film release.
