So, part of me wants to watch FMA. But part of me also remembers how FMA fandom destroyed any interest I had in that show. I don't like rabid fangirls. I also didn't like how it was considered a GOD AMONG ANIME just because it had more exposure and did better ratings-wise than other anime. I like FMA, it's fun, but I can't get into the ZOMG FMA'S BACK THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE mentality of so many. I may wait a few episodes and then stream.

Sob, harukami and I rant at each other about this all the time. The anime went different ways, sure, but it wasn't all that bad? I think they did a good job with what they had at the time and making it work. Also, it's a fact that the anime was always fifty times darker than the manga (which, TBH, is part of what made it so appealing to me). SO WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST ACCEPT AND LOVE AN ALTERNATE TELLING OF THE STORY? :((((( sadnesssss.

I love the darkness of the anime; it's what always drew me to it. That it had such off-the-wall moments but then could completely fuck you up. It always reminds me about how I accidentally recorded Muppets Christmas Carol on the ep where the little girl dies. Like right at the end of the episode. So there's horrible bloody Scar murdering the dog-girl and then YAY HAPPY MUPPET CHRISTMAS MUSIC. Best thing ever.

It's great because I watch it with my family ever year, and they always scream at me. XD
