Mar. 11th, 2005 11:41 amProf gave Nayami better ideas for her term paper. Now I'm shall be calling it "The Wolves of Ragnarok and Tolkien: From Tyr vs. Fenriswolf to Frodo vs. Gollum.
Will include:
-mythos of Freki, Geri, Skoll, Hati
-mythos of Loki and his son, Fenrir, Fenrir's encounter with Tyr and the loss of Tyr's hand
-mythos of the wolves' impact on Ragnarok
-discussion of Grendel's mother as a wolvish creature, a mad sea-wolf
-expanding on the medieval theme of wolvishness and applying it to Siegmund and Sjinfoti during their time under the spell of the wolf skins
-culminating in the comparison of the wolvishness of Gollum, the loss of Frodo's finger, and the theme of controlling the dark part of ones shelf (the shadow; Loki is Odin's, Gollum is Frodo's)
Note, the mythos of the wolf in medieval literature is not favorable but they were also poorly informed back in those days.
Some horrible infecton of my mind has caused me to rethink Tom's "Fullmetal Yugioh" fanfiction into an actual dramatic and working story, involving Dante. If I actually do it, it will be a fusion since the only character from FMA that will actually make an appearance is Dante. I don't know what I will title it yet since Tom's title is of course his own. I'm keeping some of his choices for character roles since they were too awesome for roles but I'm changing up most of the storyline. Not quite sure how long it will be but I think I'll start out with drabbles to see if the idea is going to cooperate in any way. Probably going to take place in between Doma and AE arc, assuming Grand Prix never happened because that arc is dull anyway.
( Fusion Options (Temporary) )
Whoa! That took entirely too long. I have to clean dishes so I can go home.
