WTF is a dalek?
Apr. 18th, 2005 08:51 amI'm a little uncomfortable with my Tolkien paper, seeing as it's eight pages and was completed in three and a half hours. I blame that on the clan's presence yesterday, though most of them left before seven. Only William hung around and I just can't concentrate on school when there's a guest in the house. I eventually had to chase him away and felt awful for it.
But thanks to the party, I've now seen up to episode 4 of Dr. Who. You should have seen how pissed they were when 4 ended up being a cliffhanger. And I swear if I have to hear "It's the Dalek" one more time, I'm going to strangle someone. This is why you don't watch Dr. Who with Dr. Who experts, just as you don't watch Lord of the Rings with someone who memorized the appendices. The entire day was filled with words from a language I didn't even understand. Eye of Harmony? The Master? So lost.
Finished Sukisyo Sunday morning instead of getting right to work on Tolkien. I had a previous headache that kept me up two more hours than I scheduled so I couldn't get up at my ideal time of eight a.m. I plan on reviewing both Sukisyo and Gankutsuou in my anime journal some time this week. But as far as basics, Sukisyo was an ok series once you got past the BAD animation and the oddness of the entire school being gay. Most viewers get creeped out by the abrupt switch from crack to angst in the middle of the series, but I feel that Sukisyo really needed this shift to hold interest and to have any semblance of a plot. Never too fond of Ran and Yoru because they were too stereotypcial uke/seme. But Sunao and Sora had their quirks and insanities. Also had to love the sweet relationship between the motherly Nanami and the playful Shinichirou. Really liked the OP too. Need to find it.
Tom obsessed with Read or Die OVA and a marathon of 27 episodes of Bleach. I sat the Bleach marathon out to avoid spoilers.
Probably won't be online tonight again because I have my rehearsal, Shakespeare quotes to study, and newspaper analysis due tomorrow. I also have to read some original fiction stories since I doubt I'll have time today. Maybe Tues, guys.
