My my Dartz, your dialogue couldn't be lamer, could it? That said, god I love these episodes. *huggles the Yami/Kaibaness of it all* "You better hope nothing happens to me 'cause you can't do this alone." Love when the dub outslashes the original in its attempts to assify Kaiba. Gotta remember to write up my analysis of why Dartz is not your typical "destroy the world" bad guy some time this weekend and post to the Yugioh community. We have some decent thinkers there. Essentially, Dartz believes he's the savior.

I think final went splendid even though I only had three hours of sleep. The dinner party that ate most of last night was worth it despite our fellowship's two-hour delay, getting lost in Montgomery County, dorktastic conversations about Choose Your Own Adventure books, imagining ourselves as D&D characters, and referencing every geek favorite known to man. We got to eat some great food: mead, salmon, fried chicken, salad, pasta, and about three different kinds of pastries/cakes. Also complained a lot about Hitchhiker's, which I finally saw today and thorougly enjoyed, although it confused the daylights out of me by the end. It made me want to at least read the first book. And hey, I finally get the Babblefish reference. I want a babblefish.

This continues, wavers in and out between Tolkien, fandom, and existentialism. It's called SLEEEEEP but no, Samurai Champloo. Cry! )

So yeah, Samurai Champloo rocks from the first episode. The animation is my favorite sketchy, spindly style. The characters are fun and even the style is something that gives it an extra flare. That VA who reminds me of Steve Blum (and who I'm still convinced is him until I see a statement where Blum says otherwise) delights me as Mugen and good ole Sparky Thorton (Saitou) is reprising his soft but deadly role as Jin. Nice. Will review probably tomorrow when sleep commences. Guys want to watch Metropolis. I enjoyed Metropolis because of how powerful it is. I usually hate anime movies but this one affected me probably more than any of the Miyazaki films. That and Michael Reisz (Yamato Ishida) plays my favorite character, Rock. So deluded, poor Rock.

Because I haven't encountered any recent post that I wanted to comment on and therefore introduce myself, I shall address [livejournal.com profile] teletha here. I found you through [livejournal.com profile] patosan of course and really admired your style of debate/discussion and the fire which you put into both. You seemed like one of those intelligent fans I like to keep an eye on.^^

Had a similiar situation with Stars Wars III that you experienced, [livejournal.com profile] fluffymaru, since our school paper released a review of the movie today. I pestered a student/my coworker reading the review for information on general opinion. You know, do they like it? Can Anakin act? Do they answer all the questions? I made sure to start my inquiry with the request to warn me if the review actually spoiled anything. Apparently this was interpreted as a go-ahead for my coworker to tell me all about the spoiler reviews and trailers he had encountered. My only issue with Star Wars spoilers concerns the "HOW" rather than the "WHAT." Everyone knows "WHAT" will happen but the "HOW" is the point to watching the movie. Coworker loved to discuss the "HOW," to such an extent that he probably ruined several key aspects of the movie for me within the first five minutes. I couldn't leave since I was ringing up customers while he was going on about it, encouraged by another coworker in the area. I finally averted the entire conversation by switching to reminiscing about the old SNES game, E.V.O. I probably won't be reading the paper review after all.

Been thinking about "Heritage" again. Want to de-angstify Raoul in later stages. As I work more with his character, the less any form of angst seems to suit him. He might get upset but it seems less and less to lean toward my definition of angst. Ari also needs less angst and more snark.

If I had anything else worth saying, I forgot it. Need to read the new Naruto. My boy better not be back. -_-

EDIT: I can't believe [livejournal.com profile] chuunin is ready to wank Steve Blum over a rumor. Insulting Blum always pisses me off because he is GOOD and they can shut the fuck up. Saying he's bad as Spike warrants you an ass-kicking.

I don't do memes too often and this one revealed the immense issues that must surround the Lost community. I'm glad I never get into American tv show groups. I so did not put the proper amount of effort into this.
