Anyone want to buy a uterus? -_-
Dec. 4th, 2005 06:33 pmI watched a few episodes of Gantz with Tom last night. I think he hated it since he was very adamant about sleeping rather than watching more when we came to the second disk. I was a little annoyed by the girl Kei and how she just seemed to be one big walking wet dream to Kurono. I think the only character that got much of my respect was Nishi and only because his fucked-upness didn't piss me off. Katou wouldn't stop crying, Kurono was a soulless pervent (whose only saving factor was his brief feeling of friendship with Katou) and Kei was warped enough to ask to stay with Kurono by saying, "Can I be your pet?" It's prudish, but the rampant sexuality of the show was a mega-turnoff. The violence wasn't too appealing either. I am interested enough to stay with it, though I can't explain why. I like knowing enough about the characters to understand a few of the inside jokes from when the Gantz players were more prominent at the camp. Nishi surprised me by being more feminine and almost-morbidy-innocent than the camp version. But I don't know how I feel about sticking with a series that is said to go in the wrong direction after ep 18. It seems manga's required after that. I'm just not sure if I'm up for the time/emotional investment.
