I finally broke $5,000 of my own cold hard cash in the bank yesterday. It was a momentous occassion that required a party, but unfortunately I had work, meaning I had to drive out to the middle of nowhere in rain so hard I couldn't see two inches in front of me and that caused me to hydroplane a total of three times when I was only going three miles per hour. This is what I get for wearing jeans and t-shirt to a Christian school celebration.

I am trying very hard not to journey to Walden this weekend since I have probably more than 10 manga I haven't read since Acen and buying more is bordering on lunacy. Everything fell off my walls due to my dumb cat and my floor is literally buried in a good square yard of manga/DVDS/anime magazines right now. I should clean it, but I'm not up for my monthly adventure yet.

Whenever I go to the Avatar community and see it ruled by Zutara fans, I begin to understand how the het fans feel when they venture into FMA/Naruto communities. Zuko learning water-bending is just going to make this five billion times worse. I can see I will have to kill people again.

Killing will commence after new Avatar and miscellaneous anime I need to catch up on.

People need to stop making fun of Zuko and his emo. His acting really gets to me when he's really hurting. When he was roaring at that storm, you could really *feel* the emotion. I like when Zuko acts his age. No matter how pissy and arrogant he can be, he's still an angry, hurt teenager deep down. I do hope the poor dear doesn't fry himself on that mountain top.

People also need to stop bitching at Toph. She's bitchy because her element is earth. She's tough like the earth. It is natural for those associated with the earth to be strong-willed and not easily deterred from their path. The earth is not a giving element like water and air. Nor is it destructive like fire. It simply stands its ground, as Toph tells us throughout the episode. Now I know where Haruka (and my Erik) get it. Heh.

I guess I can use this view to re-examine Katara as well. The reason she's so dynamic could be the contribution of her element. Water is always changing and can easily go from a gentle brook to the fierce rapids, depending where you stand. I can forgive her sudden burst in power if I relate it back to this idea of the inability to truly predict the path of water. I hope it's a view that might be applied ot Sokka too, if only for just a short while.

As for Zuko, his element puts him in the danger of being quickly burnt out. Fire can easily take down almost anything, but once it eats up all its oxygen and material sources, it doesn't have much left. I would also argue with the one firemaster's views that all fire does is destroy. What about the heat used to cauterize wounds? What about the heat used to keep people alive during the cold nights? What about the trees that only release their seeds when bathed in flames? Fire is vicious but without it, change oculd not occur. On that note, I just love the idea of having lightning be a purer form of fire since its more precised and contained.

And now back to the overprotective stalker and his pantless charge. Oh Fakir, how I love you. Let me count the ways.
