tempestuously: ([lamento] may I have this sex?)
So I went to see the dancing penguin movie. It was pretty much an awesome movie except for the deus ex machina that it called the end. That was just a little too convenient. However, I stand by my belief that there is far too much WTFery in the movie to pose as a dancing penguin movie. The religious crap isn't even subtle. It's blatant. And it did confuse the heck out of the children who attended the same showing as me. I also now feel the movie deliberately poses the way it does to attract people to see it without them knowing they're going to a message movie because people probably want to be avoiding the message movies right now. It does confuse my that the movie chooses not to promote itself to the audience that would be best suited to understanding and doing something with its message. Children are not going to get the larger themes presented. So it's a bit of a Catch-22 in my opinion. Robin Williams is great. The choreography is amusing and I love the slickness of the dancing penguin. That said, the movie sure scared the shit out of some kids.
