Finished Shinshi Doumei Cross. It got super angsty to an almost ridiculous point at the end, but in doing so managed to make me like Haine. Point to you, SDC. Point to you. I had some issues with the resolution of Ushio's storyline; I think things were a bit rushed. And I like bitchy Ushio. I did end up liking both brothers and am glad the story didn't end the way I thought it was going to end for a while there. But I also think there was some fast-talking going on to redeem people, which didn't exactly match up or make sense but nothing's perfect. *cough*Haine's dad*cough*Shizumasa*cough* Said fast-talking would have worked out just fine had it been brought in at a better pace instead of just conveniently plunked at the end. Good ideas, bad execution. Same for introducing characters like Haine's gang friend. We barely even got to know her. Overall though, I liked it, and it really did keep me hooked for the last 15 chapters or so. No change on favorites. But I like both Shizumasa and Haine now so there's that.

Party was fun. We ate the cranberries inside the centerpieces. I don't think we were supposed to do that, but it was fun anyway. I dipped mine in chocolate. Mmm chocolate fountain.
