I really wish these net phrases never came into existence:
-O rly (extra hatred for the owls)
-Y halo thar (oddly enough, if you leave out the y, I have no problem with it.)
-Omgwtfbbq (I don't mind omg or wtf but the bbq thing is what makes this so damn stupid)
-Unf (extra hatred for unf unf unf)
-Ftw (mostly because half the time I have no idea what it's supposed to mean. spelling out words like "for the win" is so not cool)
-Srsly (or however it's spelled. this is the grand-daddy of my pet peeves? is proper spelling that painful?)
-The Internet is serious business. (also includes all permutations. about as much hatred as the mispelling of seriously)
If you combine any of these elements together in one post/icon, you have sinned against your language of origin.
Just in case you are wondering, I am fond of sex0r/rox0r and any permutation of those. ^^
Sometimes I also wish the net didn't exist. I shouldn't have to be lambasted by both my brother and father just for mentioning that my brother take out a library book instead of automatically flock to the net. He even told me if he had to get a library book, he would rather get an E. WTF? For the moment, I declare my hatred of all grade-schoolers.
Onto more brotherly gripes, his high school is forcing him to fundraise. The best part is in the rules for the fundraising. There's this huge disclaimer saying the school doesn't endorse door-to-door selling. Then the rules say: 2. Only sell to people you know. 3. Identify yourself and your group to the consumer. Why would you need to identify yourself to someone you know? This is about as flimsy as the sites that offer free downloads with the disclaimer "These are only for trial purposes. You must delete after 24 hours" or better yet, "By downloading, you are acknowledging you've already purchased the materials. If you haven't purchased these files, the webmaster is not responsible for any legal issues resulting from your downloading." Yes, because we all download files we already have. How dumb do they think people are?
