Another day, another rant
Feb. 26th, 2006 01:44 pmWhy does nobody care that Arakawa was the first Japanese ever to get a gold medal in figure-skating? Why?
Had a decent day, which flowed into shoe-buying (I hate this! I don't care how un-girl that makes me. I hate every shoe out there and can never choose a thing) and manga-buying. Purchases include Godchild, Cafe Kichijouji, which I wouldn't stop referring to as Cafe Ichijouji making it seem like a restaurant owned by the Digimon kids, His Majesty's Dog 2, Black Cat and Death Note 4. Was going to buy Yami 10, but I have a love-hate relationship with Yami once Muraki disappears, meaning I mock the series in full once it loses all sense of previous plot. And cry too. Either way it makes me less excited to buy the series, and I can wait longer. But I do need to get back on my Tenipuri manga; I haven't bought since 9 and I hear 12 or 13 is out. Good days mean high chance of net activity. ^^;; Maybe.
Read a completely beatiful SasuNaru ship manifesto yesterday. Well, it would have been more awesome had it not mentioned NaruSaku as being a possibility. Nothing against Sakura, but I would rather not have pairings in Naruto, and if that's not the case, I'd rather not hear about it until it becomes established as canon. The essay went into the real reason SasuNaru appeals to be: its fucked up and almost doomed nature, that and the intense loyalty involved between the two. However, I had a teensy weensy bit of issue with the overal generalization of other pairings. You know me. One, I think if we are going to argue that Gungrave is strictly platonic friendship, the same can be applied to SasuNaru. Anyone who knows the series should see why. But that's neither here nor there, and is one of my personal gripes with the essay.
