tempestuously: ([tenimyu] eternal rivals)
So want to pass out. Woke up too early for liking. Also have another early day tomorrow. Displeased.

I finally saw the part of the episode where the Tenipuri rivals sing to Tezuka. That was so dorkishly wonderful. I still need to watch the Rikkidai and whatever is the arc the miyu's doing next. Thing's have become so much more complicated now that the anime is licensed and dubbed into stupidity.
tempestuously: ([kamui] grrr)
Bad animation + Bad dubbing = Exceptionally bad Tenipuri. I really wish the VAs would pretend to care about their roles. Ryoma's a mixed bag. Sometimes he's great, and I love his ability to snark. But if he just has to be indifferent, he sounds lifeless. I think of the rest, I hate Taka and Inui the most since neither knows how to annunciate. Kaidoh tries at least. Momo is decent. Fuji would be better if he didn't sound so masculine. Tezuka has random delivery issues. I don't find Fudomine the most exciting of the matches to begin with so to have a crappy VA sound base to go with makes watching the episodes exhausting. Thank god for Kamio. I've always loved how slick he is.

ETA: Tell me I did not just see someone relate Kingdom Hearts to shonen manga in explaining how shonen manga could let secondary main characters die. o_0
tempestuously: ([ffvii] eyes on you)
I just realized that I spent a good chunk of hours this weekend, bitching about how I had nothing to do and how I had finished all my anime. Yet I still have not watched the new dubbed Tenipuri or HikaGo. It's as if I completely forgot about them, as I somewhat have with Grayman. I blame the utter snorefest that is the Tenipuri dub for this.

Oh good I was afraid I would not longer be able to find SeraMyu, but I guess it only matters if it's licensed by the English companies. Yays. Probably won't be able to find my Sailormoon and R anymore though. Evil google.

Bro gets to stay home because he made himself sick and I'll have to stay out until forever tonight, fighting with the smarmites that are what my job is all about.
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] all ur base)
Sis is not going with to RennFest. There goes my whole family fun time idea. I regret.

The live action Tenipuri movie just creates this weird emptiness in me. I think it's because I see the actors but they're not singing and some part of me keeps wanting them to but they don't. The special effects make me laugh though. And I love the new Ryoma.

Did I mention in yesterday's Code Geass rambles that Suzaku stole Fafner's flight suits because he totally did. He must have raided poor Kazuki's closet. Also, all of my Lelouch icons shall refer to him as Not!Kamui for the crack of it all.

Avatar, I'm not sure how to feel. It was an emotional episode but it was dragging a bit for me until the Teen Girl Squad showed up. I love ninja Ty Li. Bro pointed out to me that they couldn't be the Teen Girl Squad since they lacked a fourth member but I had a backup for that one.

Presenting the Teen Fire Squad starring
-Ty Li as Cheerleader.
-Azula as Whats-her-face
-Mai as So-and-so
and....
-Zuko as THE UGLY ONE!

Do hold your applause. I need to make icons first.

I was thinking about Death Note the other day and how awesome and original idea it was and how the mangaka never truly explored the whole psychology of what Light does and whether he's right or wrong, which I think would have made the story even better. I think that's what held me through Death Note, even when I started to stop caring, the sheer potential for what was laid out. Light might have done everything because he was still bored but as he puts it, the rest of the world had to make their own conclusions and were secretly siding with him. I think that alone is worth pondering. I would have liked us to meet one of Kira's fans, who wasn't madly in love with him but just felt that what he was doing was Justice. Not someone who knew a victim of a crime. Not someone who was spared. Just an ordinary person who deep down believed that all of the worst criminals should die and that what Light was doing would make the world a better place. It's disappointing that so many take Death Note at face value when the world it proposes is full of intrigue.

Same as my take on those Tsubusa fans who need to stop screeching that Clamp ditch X world. You can have your porny KuroFai fun while we learn about the happy vampire/hunter family. I don't want to be snippy but I just don't get how a work that is, at its basic level, derivative can be held so much higher than works that were at one time semi-original. You know what this tells me, it's time to stick with the icon comments and glaze over the rest of this fan stuff.
tempestuously: (joannad: wanna be with you now)
I had exactly two hours of me-time after work today. Two. There are not words for how much that infuriated me. I didn't get to do any of the writing, Xenosaga-ing or anything else I had in mind. I had time for Tenipuri so I could bitch a little at how they say "KaUru" when talking about Kaidoh. I haven't watched the Japanese version in some time so I'm wondering if this deal Viz has with using certain names is just a reoccurence of their manga issues or if it's accurate. Either way, Inui still creeps me out with his VA. But I'll give him points for trying very hard to sound like he's supposed to.

I think I'm going to deal with this dead tired after work deal by chugging down a Red Bull everytime I have one of these later meetings.

And joys, Tom said I could come over this weekend. Good since I missed House and need someone to watch Trinity Blood and Bleach with. Apparently he has a project for this weekend that sounds like fun.

Seriously, the drama on some communities is getting so out of hand. I can't tell whether it's a moving onto work thing or a collection of general woes that they let get to them on an unhealthy scale. Either way, it's depressing to think that CRACK can become personal. Despite my views on various persons, I feel bad for everyone that every feels that abandoning a fandom is their only resort.

I need to work on my new obsession with hyphenating combination descriptions. I need combo breakers or something.

Tezuka is Sparky Thornton. The dubbed episode finally gave him enough screen time for me to recognize it. I have mixed reactions on this. It assuages my fears that Tezuka's voice actor can't act since Sparky has shown himself to be capable in characters such as Saitou and sometimes Brandon Heat. But I also dislike the choice of such a soft-spoken guy for the slightly gruff and older-sounding Tezuka. His dialogue slip-ups do give me TezuRyo moments so I can't be too hard on him. I also haven't heard anyone else mention his name lately. I must have missed it. I'm hoping that it was just a case of stupid VA when they pronounced it wrong a few episodes back.

Akira is even more gay in the anime than he is in the manga. His little confession to Hikaru after the first tournament with Haze. I've never seen such loving eyes. Why can't Viz release more HikaGo faster? I'm dying here.

I should get onto to making that dubbed LJ, shouldn't I? First, I'll have to check and see if the idea hasn't already been put into play by someone else with more clout since I know my pimpin' abilities are weak at best. Ah, the trials of being a fairweather fan to all.

EDIT:
Here is my crack: http://community.livejournal.com/theweeklydub/

Please to be giving any suggestions on how to make it better before I go attempting to pimp it.

RETURN OF THE EDIT: Summary's done to Volume 9 now. You know the shit with Jibril and Metatron is also making sense now and I finally get all the Lailah references while Setsuna's in Hades. I'm so lazy in my summary, not bothering to label the various levels of Heaven and Hell. I think I missed out on some Kira angsting the original run too. Poor fellow, he doesn't know what he wants. I love his relationship with Setsuna, especially during the hair scene. When you think of it, it's a love triangle with two parts sharing the same body. Now that's screwed up. I don't envy you, Kira.
tempestuously: (amanecer: larxene pwns you)
So mad. Prince of Tennis dub removed before I could get a sneak peak. Now I'll have to catch it off the site. ;_; How I love the dub haters. Bitch bitch bitch.

Posting ideas of note for future:

1. Asking for scans from CoM novel. I know I saw it somewhere before.
2. Post on why Naruto is a religious parable, featuring Sasuke as Luficer (sign of the Beast baby) and Naruto as Jesus. Still haven't decided on our Judas yet.
3. Post on why Sasuke could become an anti-hero. Also containing why Sasuke never held true allegiance to Konoha but rather Team 7. In other words, Sasuke owes Konoha NOTHING. Yeah, you heard me. Nothing.
4. I'll think of something else later. More bitching about my blinding hatred for Zutara. Not so much because Zutara fans attack Kaaang fans with some of the worst reasoning I've ever seen. "Katara is like his mom." Not because almost the entire community is obsessed with it so that it's practically the "official" pairing. Not because there is NO CANONICAL evidence whatsoever. Wait, there is Winter Solstice. I will say that the interaction in Winter Solstice was something. But last time I checked that entire fight was about Aang. They are fighting over Aang. -_- No, it's because Zutara is cliched, and a classic bad-boy/anti-hero and tough-girl/motherly chick. To each their own of course. But I shouldn't have to put up with Zutara this and Zutara that in every other comment of friggin' episode discussions. God, I don't think I've ever *hated* a pairing this much in my life.

I believe Kishimoto and the Avatar creators are secretly stealing the others' ideas. Naruto now features elemental affinities. Is it so coincidental that Avatar explains that lightning is the purified form of fire control and that Sasuke (boy with Fire affinity) also has talents with lightning? I think not. On Avatar's side, it now features magical foxes and who could forget Avatar State AKA Kyuubi mode. I'm so hoping Zuko finds Appa before Aang and the gang.

Learned Tenipuri might get licensed. *is sadder than I expected* I always want stuff more when I know it'll be harder to get. Crap, I never learned about Renji and Sanada's team, and they're going to be featured in the next miyu. I shall have to pray the manga gets released at a faster pace. Alas, no more chibi eps for me. I only got to see one.

I told Dad that Bush's plans sometimes make me think he's playing Risk. Only in Risk, we learn that if you send your little armies to too many territories at once, you get your ass kicked. Love the bit about the alternate fuel sources too. To think, I almost felt bad about not watching tonight.
tempestuously: (nayami: fall)
For example, tennis makes you friggin' crazy! And Hyotei are the NY Yankees of junior high tennis.

Less Atobe hate this time around. I think I got my timing mixed up for when his true fandom started. A few episode chunks after this. But his respect for Tezuka makes me respect him, even if I think Tezuka is an IDIOT. You do not endanger your arm like that! I just wanted to grab him and shake him, screaming that.

Off to the miyu. Will do my usual marathon reaction post afterward.
tempestuously: (nayami: just play the game)
I don't want to stop watching Hyotei arc, but I have to wake up insanely early. And I mean it this time. No 8 a.m. nonsense. We're talking 6 a.m. or earlier. I shouldn't have stayed up this long, but I want to finish up with TeniPuri so I can move on to squee about Hyotei miyu. I want to see how well the new cast has improved. They seemed better than Yamabuki miyu in Dream Live 2.

It almost takes the fun out of watching when you know what's going to happen because some horrible friend can't keep his mouth shut. I will cry anyway. Tezuka!

In the meantime, I shall ponder whether the Atobe fangirl love is a result of his being a mega-asshole and princess prick. His skills wow me, yes, but I don't like guys who play that viciously. He knows he can seriously injure Tezuka in the long run and he doesn't give a damn. I was lenient on Mizuki's jeopardizing of Yuuta, but only because Mizuki's kind of catlike in his whoriness. You just want to swat him or get out the spray bottle. Though honestly it's probably SeiRu miyu that makes me love Mizuki so much so Hyotei miyu might warm me up to Princess Atobe. I could understand if maybe he proves more amusing in later episodes and crack shorts, but from what I recall, everyone was all over Atobe throughout the Hyotei arc before any of that really became frequent. Is this one of those Atobe=Fuuma situations? Because those are icky. For now, the only Hyotei member I respect is Jirou. *growls at Atobe*

I need to make an icon of young Tezuka that says "I just can't wait to be king" because it's so true.

Random request: Anyone have Glory Days or whatever the third ED for Tenipuri is called? I really want. *puppy eyes*
tempestuously: (snowgarden: orgy)
Hmm, surprised at the lack of notice of the House spotting. No matter.

Whimperings of the Day:

1. They better not have killed Nim. They're going to lose the majority of their watchers. Nobody's in this for the "storyline" or the "characters."

2. Ref to TeniPuri Hyotei Match: Why must Eiji be without his Oishi? Now that Amelda-cloned whore known as Gakuto is going to kick his ass. He's all "oooh look at me, my acrobatic play is so much more refined than yours, Kikamaru. And I have my blue-haired TezukaYuushi for support. Pleasediekthxbye." You can do it, Eiji!

*previous post undergoes disappearing act*

Bleh, who has time for emo when you have the most hyperactive player to ever grace the TeniMiyu series. Eiji, bow before our new king of crack, Jirou. Also known as the only non-"evil" Hyotei member. He's such a fanboy.

I might get my chance to catch Grand Prix after all. I would figure that they would combine the premiere of Grand Prix with the premiere of GX, but guess not. The CN premieres don't start up for another few weeks and I have still yet to catch the Fall Line-up preview to check out the second clip of Naruto or the like. Shaman King should be coming to its end soon enough. Maybe they'll replay it from the start so I can catch the crappy dub. I like it. Must have the same brainwashing effect on me as Yugioh does. Yoh's VA is one of my favorites, but I also love Lyserg.

Onto more 4Kids ramblings, I turned on CN last night to catch the last chunk of Clash in the Collesium, which pisses me off for several reaons: 1, it means they showed the final eps of the Noa Arc a long time ago and I missed them, 2, it means I missed Jou's "death" again, 3, it means I missed the ultimate battle royale in the duel tower, and 4, it means I missed ALL of the YamiKai duel to the death. I might actually buy Clash in the Collesium, even if it's only available in dubbed format. The subs have stopped coming out all together, I believe. I just love "Yugi, you will not defeat me in my own tournament!" Yami likes to lecture. Poor Kaiba baby.

Also hearing word of a live-action Tenipuri. Since I dig live-action Tenipuri far more than its animated predecessor, I'm all for that. If it's as good as Pretty Guardian Sailormoon, it will be golden. Plus, it will have tennis! I'm hoping for a really hot Tezuka and Ryoma. Oh a hot Yuuta too. Still on the fence about the fruity Atobe.

I think the SakuSaso fight is almost over. About time. Maybe they can move onto something that will make me care about the manga or the series anymore. Right now, I'm just holding onto my SasuNaru for sanity. Though, I probably should be picking up the latest filler. It has Shino.

I need to do AMV today and catch up on events at a certain summer locale. I also need to make new icons soon.

That icon meme that's been going around. The answers, they burn! )
tempestuously: (quebelly-ravenclaw)
Plans for the day:
1. Get oil change, read Yugioh 5/Banana Fish 8/Until the Full Moon 2 while this is going on,
2. possibly pick up either DNAngel 8 or FMA 2 or Def Leppard CD,
3. email prof about conference,
4. train brother for three hours,
5. stay away from main Internet (not including AIM) for the duration of the day because if anyone spoils HBP for me I will gut them with a library card,
6. figure out what time to see "Charlie and the Chocolate factory,"
7. probably end up getting dragged off with [livejournal.com profile] quebelly,
8. and snag HBP for Walmart around midnight.

Don't know why I've been so manic-depressant lately, but I'd really like to get over it soon since it kills the will to write, and I have been actively thinking about dialogue and scenes lately. I think Luce sounds too old sometimes. But I can blame that on Tavores being an immortal and all. I promise everyone, who doesn't fixate on the cause of my condition, that I will be in better spirits the next time we talk. Unless something hideous occurs in HBP. I'm contemplating if watching PoT to that I understand Hyotei will improve my mood. Everyone's always on about Hyotei. Must be lavendar-bitch Atobe. He's sinful looking, but I need to get more into his personality.

I want that Wolf's Rain shirt [livejournal.com profile] catystorm mentioned. And, [livejournal.com profile] vonheston, I'm afraid to comment on your entry for fear of spoilers, but I think someone getting the cops called in on them for possessing HBP is awesome.

Sometimes I wonder if I de-age/de-violent Luce, would I be able to write Duo? Not attempting anything with Heero since he's so close to Nicky that I might get lost.

Heh, my paper got one of those HBP carton pixtures. But ours is in black and white. ;_;
