tempestuously: ([geass] will be the death of you)
Well, I fixed the issue I was having with no camera drivers. That issue being that I'm a moron who forgot that most programs post-2000 come with pre-installed drivers. At least I can finally post pictures of my haircut.

Checked out the "Breath" Geass vid and while I'm a bit jealous because that has always been my secret project, I think it needs a little tweaking. I'm not a fan of downtime in vids unless the music is really slow. If you have screaming, you need action. "Breath" is a song meant for an action vid. I admit my ideal use for the song would be a SuzaLulu focus because the song is so very Suzaku, much like "Bent." Because really "start hating" is the perfect lead-in to Ore!Suzaku freakoutery. Can't say I wouldn't go for the same ending though. XD

ETA: Um, doujin, can we not have adorable kiddie flashbacks in the middle of sex? k thnx.

I has a plan for the weekend:

1. Make new Geass screencaps while listening to AS end tracks
2. Make pretty AS and Alexiel icons
3. Catch up on Toward the Terra
4. Review the Geass fic I've missed (excluding rape because no)
5. Finish whatever memes I set up for myself
6. Scan at least one doujin

And now for your long-delayed Geass introspection of the week via Celiss as always. Today's subject: Suzaku and how everything he is he owes to Zero/Lelouch. Also how Zero keeps Suzaku from destroying his own personal ideals and thus, in his own special way, preserves Suzaku's sanity up until 22. It'll make sense, I promise. )

New GOAL!

Ran across some Ouran AMV to Collin Raye's "Not That Different." This is one of my favorite Raye songs so I was sad that it wasn't used to its true potential, mainly the final episodes. It also turned out much sillier than I would have liked. Now while I know Ouran is crack, I propose to make a serious Ouran AMV to this song that will somehow capture all the true emotion of the Raye's lyrics. I don't know when I shall start this project, but it is now on my list. Now to make it a Tamaki/Haruhi vid, a Hikaru/Haruhi video or both. I'd do Tamaki/Kyouya but the lyrics are specifically tailored for a guy and girl. Le sigh.

Lyrics yeah it's corny so shoot me. )
tempestuously: (getaway_machine: you make me smile)
Note to self, find way to locate and or buy Sailormoon R. Second note to self, DO NOT WATCH Franz/Albert AMVs right after watching the depressing scenes in the Black Lady musical. Franz, he totally wasn't worth it. (Don't fret, Albert, I still love your naive ass.) Oh, Sapphire, why is you always so doomed? I blame Diamond. *glares* Innocent Demand my ass. You're lucky you have a pretty voice, bastard. Third note to self, are those seriously the lyrics for Ryoma's "I'm Always Winner"? "With a wordless battle cry, I put my faith in the ball. Smash and receive. To the annoying opponent, a message in my eyes. Sorry, I'll take the win today. Yes, I'm always winner." I'm dying of laughter here. Fourth note to self, make more coherent posts.

So I think I'm done slacking and whining and cheered myself up enough with YouTube to go to work.

Learning several things from YouTube, one of which being that "Until the Day I Die" is an awesome SasuNaru song. If only people would stop letting their clips run for so long and find more clips. The screaming actually lends itself well to the current status of their relationship. This band reminds me of Linkin Park but it isn't so I can recommend it by default. Yays.

Lyrics: )
tempestuously: (nayami: absolution)
Yes, I'm actually going to look into making this into an AMV. I'm even going to amass clips and everything. Only problem? It's more pertinent to the manga than the anime. Oh well, gotta love it's lamenting and beautiful tone. might also make a good AkuRoku but don't have enough clips woe BTW, this would be applying to the sane side of Naruto, should that still remain, and not the SNARLKYUUBISASUKEKILL side. Because I know deep inside all of that obsessive rage he's still just a worried boy searching for his best friend.

Somewhere

Lost in the darkness, hoping for a sign
Instead there is only silence,
Can't you hear my screams...?
Never stop hoping,
Need to know where you are
But one thing is for sure,
You're always in my heart.

I'll find you somewhere
I'll keep on trying until my dying day
I just need to know whatever has happened,
The Truth will free my soul.

Lost in the darkness, try to find your way home
I want to embrace you and never let you go
Almost hope you're in heaven so no one can hurt your soul...
Living in agony 'cause I just do not know
Where you are

I'll find you somewhere
I'll keep on trying until my dying day
I just need to know whatever has happened,
The Truth will free my soul.

Wherever you are, I won't stop searching.
Whatever it takes, I need to know.

I'll find you somewhere
I'll keep on trying until my dying day
I just need to know whatever has happened,
The Truth will free my soul.

Finally, AMV is complete. I've already noticed one problem that I should have checked before uploading but I can fix that later. Stupid lying delayed stills. They worked so much better before they were rendered. All in all, there are pluses and minuses with this attempt. One, I don't think Kio's parts fit in so much with the whole now that all of the non-lyrical sections are supplemented with Seimei. However, I know there is no way in hell that I'm going to get more Soubi/Ritsuka moments that work with the dialogue. I'd also probably have to alternate between the two and that would be hella annoying. I would have liked to put transitions in certain parts but the clips wouldn't allow for that. I also wouldn't mind incorporating a fade to white effect in my next vid. I just need to learn when it's most appropriate. I think some of the lip-synching and note-focused scenes work well, but I worry that something about the non-lyrical sections seems off as far as mood. Another thing I can't really do much about since there wasn't much footage to work with. I see "Photograph" as an awesome song for Loveless, but not all of the music lends itself to the series.

Just download the silly thing already.

I have nothing else for the night. I need to catch up on my nearly ending Black Cat, Naruto manga and make me some sexy Tsubasa!Kamui icons.

No work tomorrow = yay.
tempestuously: (mugetsu: liek OMG squee!!1)
Clamp, I still hate you. But Kamui AND Fuuma, I can't help but feel like a silly X fangirl all over again. *purrs* Oh Kamui, your eyes remind me why I fell for you in the first place. And the moves. Damn, now I'm going to have to start following this series.

In other news, AMV fixed. Stupid Nayami forgot to render since she was used to other video programs. Still have no idea what to do with musical interludes since they are all so damn violent and Loveless has only so many fight scenes.
tempestuously: (soylent_icons: lesbians are love too)
So afraid to check out the newest Naruto. *whimpers*

Ok, the deleted scenes and extras for the Goblet of Fire DVD reach new levels of wrongness. Aside from Snape dashing about to all the locked cars and deducting points from liplocked students, the inhumanely creepy goth rock band that plays at the Yule Ball and the headache-inducing Hogwarts theme song, you also get Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Radcliffe interaction. Disturbing interaction. I don't know what was worse. Fiennes constantly touching himself. Poor audio that made it sound like Daniel said "His body is FANTASTIC." Or Fiennes saying "When it really comes down to it, what you have is an older man who's tied up a younger boy and is humiliating him." GOD FIENNES! It was twisted enough without you having to beat to death the pedophilia motif.

Needless to say, this is my favorite HP DVD ever!

Adobe Premiere is being slightly less of a dick, but we'll see how it fares when I add in the Soubi and Kio parts. )

Took the car out for spin with the sun roof down for the first time ever. I might eventually get around to taking pictures, but I doubt it. I don't know. I think it needs something. Probably Tenimiyu. That would shut up the boy in his tricked, sunroof-having sports car that just had to blast the Milkshake Song at top volume whenever we hit a red light together. He can have his milkshake, I'll have my victoly.

For my Yugioh fans, Yugioh does The Two Towers and Return of the King. Highlights include Yami as Aragorn, Bakura as Frodo and two special guests as Theoden and Sam. May the crossover orgy begin.
tempestuously: (evercool: soubi)
Almost one hundred clips later and halfway through Ritsuka's verse, the Loveless AMV has crashed my computer. Remind me to never do a fast song for an AMV ever again. Or maybe I should start using a single clip for each line instead of numerous ones. That musical interlude in the middle's going to be more painful than the one from "Rakuen is Here."

Also, Project Runway makes me sad. Way to toss around mixed signals, judges.

EDIT: In reference to Clamp's newly announced reason for X's hiatus, will the real excuse please stand up?

EDIT2: I love the rabid speculations that Clamp may try to "finish" X within Tsubasa. Crazy. But who's complaining when there's hot, possibly more bitchy, Kamui to be had?
tempestuously: (nayami: just play the game)
Curse anime!Ritsuka for dressing infinitely more masculine than the manga. How the hell am I supposed to get a scene for "Such a woman, you've got style"? If I don't find anything soon, I'm either going for a stereotypical blush scene or Ritsuka's girly pose against the school building whenever Soubi comes to pick him up. Or maybe the shot of him in his slightly girlish coat in episode 10. Although it only looks really girl in one shot. Grr, the only really girly shot of Ritsuka is from that almost shotarific shot of him and Soubi at the end of episode five, but I need that for the "You're all I want, my fantasy" line later on. Damn you, Def Lepard, and you're gender-restrictive lyrics!

Other than Soubi's lyrics of doom section, most of his and Kio's section are done. Except for Kio's "I gotta have you" line, which will probably have to be running since Kio never gets any action. I'm saving Ritsuka's sections for last since I figured him to be the easiest to find scenes for, being both more emotional and more prominent. I will say this, this AMV is turning out about twice as creepy as I originally planned. Stalkers much.
tempestuously: (aquariankiss: luce/nick)
I won something at work. Something that might actually be able to go on a resume. Squee.

"Photograph" continues to move at a decent pace. Would be more decent if I didn't have to work tonight and if either Kio had more footage or Soubi had any emotional footage whatsoever. It's ok, Soubi, I still love you even if you lack any sad/truly angry expression.

I forgot to add in my mini-post on the Oscars that whenever I finish "Psychosis" (if ever) and get it published, I'm totally devoting it to Lucian and Nicky because devoting works to fictional characters rocks. You go, Ang Lee. With your mens and womens. Aside from the choice of best song, which makes me want to drive a railroad spike into my head, I wasn't disappointed with the winners this year. Everything I liked won at least something and almost all the winners deserved their award. Dad even admitted the theme for "Brokeback Mountain" is gorgeous, just as the cinematography for "Memoirs for a Geisha" is second to none. Dad and Bro kept thinking I wanted "Brokeback Mountain" to win all the big awards. Sorry as much as the movie depressed me and was really powerful, I think it had cohesion and focus issues and the fact that it's very hard to sympathize with two assholes (ok, Jack is slightly less of an asshole than Ennis). I'm kinda tired of half the Net bitching about how the movie should have won. And yay for "Capote". Still need to see that.

How many times do I have to tell the Sasuke-neko no Chex Mix?
tempestuously: (nayami: faster sasuke kill kill)
I have very bad feelings about the Black Cat anime. Its denial of my Eve/Leon and non-return of Jenos to this point reminds me the anime has a very angst-based storytelling style. And last episode titles such as "A Selfish Cat" or "Cat's Paradise," the second-to-last episode are not encouraging.

The SasuNaru AMV contest results are in, and I'm argumentative about some of the contestants. Because I can, I might do a little rundown of all of the vids I watched with their pluses and minuses. Overall, people need to learn that a song with the perfect lyrics loses all effect when paired with the wrong scenes. In other words, do not pair loud music with the almost-kiss or Sasuke being half-dead. -_-

Realized I lost my Def Lepard CD yesterday so I decided to buy a new one. I didn't have enough money and planned on hitting up the ATM. While I'm on the way to the mall, I get smacked in the face with a five dollar bill. There's about $7 worth of cash on the ground, one more $5 and two $1. I look around to see who could have dropped it, and there's nobody. I'm not going to say I felt horrible about claiming the money as my own. It's not as if someone could run up and recover it. And it was in the middle of the street. Also, Def Lepard. *whine* So I purchased my CD with my dirty money, thinking the whole time it was probably forged because my luck is like that. That's your zen for the day.

Watched Fox and the Hound today on ToonDisney. It pointed out a lot of things that piss me off about kid movies. One, the lady raises the fox from a cub and then when his life is in danger from the hunter, she takes this house-broken animal and dumps it in an animal preserve, assuming it will survive. Has nobody seen Born Free? Wild animals raised as pets do not have the honed instinctual capabilities to survive in the wild. In the city maybe. There's always food to be found and the only major threats are cars or crazy people. In the wild, other animals might seriously injure them and they have a high likelihood of starving.

Two, the hunter is going after the fox and runs into a bear. The bear naturally roars at him, and the hunter shoots it in the arm. Then the rest of the scene the bear is the main bad guy with both the fox and the dog fighting it off, with the bear eventually going over a waterfall and knowing Disney, probably dying. What the hell did the bear do? That asshole shot him. I'd want to attack someone who shot me.

Three, did I mention the hunter broke into an animal preserve, set fire to an area of the preserve, possibly killed a bear inside and left metallic traps all throughout the place? And there is no penalty for this. He gets his foot stuck in a trap and then goes home with his dog, and they all forget about the whole thing. The guy should have been sued. I am not empathizing with some guy who just jeopardized the whole preserve. I know we're supposed to be all about balance and seeing both sides but I want some retribution. This is what you get when you take a story about the bittersweet and realistic friendship between a fox and a hound, which ends as one would expect when based from the hunter's view, and try to make it into a fluffy kid-friendly movie. Don't believe me. Look up the actual book. It's not pretty. And I quote: "The story of Tod the fox who befriended a hunting dog named Copper was originally much more realistic. It ended with a hunter nailing Tod's lifeless pelt to the wall then euthanizing Copper with his shotgun." Well, ain't that cheery? Did I mention I read this when I was 12 in an antique store one day?
tempestuously: (nayami: fall)
I wanna make an Advent Children music video with Masterplan's "Spirit Never Dies." I turned it on yesterday to check for lyrics for iconage. Nothing fit but the idea of a video with all the fighting and all the sad characters seem appropriate. It'll go in my big pile of AMVs to do but will never get done.

I need to start my Angel watching soon.

[livejournal.com profile] _argustar and I had another Naruto-watching party. Right before, my aunt called and randomly complained about everything under the sun, from how "nobody cares about the poor white people in New Orleans because they're too busy bitching about the lazy blacks who don't even work" to how much my sister sucks to how much her life used to suck. The whole time I'm RPing and half-listening and half-responding with the English version of "hnn" and whatever and watching the clock since it's dangerously close to Naruto time. I almost formulated a plan to convince my aunt to let me off the phone when she finally opted to talk to the Bro. Then I ran for the television, cranked it up as high as it could go and touched the phone no more. You do not mess with Naruto time!

People are iffy about dubbed!Sasuke because when he monologues or snarks under his breath, he tends to speak real low. Once he's allowed to speak in a normal setting, he sounds much better. I thought he did a very good job with his lines to Sakura, especially the one about his angst. I never realized how cheesy the combination of those lines and Sasuke's them make that scene. It's like angst overkill. It's still one of the few good scenes of that crack episode. About the missed kiss, aside from the "I'll get you, Naruto" lines people pointed out, we also get the "Those guys are vicious!" from the kid responsible for their *kiss*. Chouji's voice is disturbing! Shikamaru sounds too much like a punk-ass bitch. Everyone else is doing much better, even Iruka, although he still can't pronounce for shit. Sasuke gets extra points for being the only person on that show to say Naruto's name decently. How fitting.

Oh yeah, why the heck do the hokage and the jounin gather around a crystal ball to have a Naruto and Sasuke watching party? The voyuers!

Also watched the Alchemist last night. I've missed me Edward. For some reason, it was so weird watching dubbed Edward again. It didn't feel the same. Well, Wrathers should be around next week. That'll yank me out of my funk.

I'm irritated with my design for Raul again. Yeah, Raoul just isn't sitting right with me anymore; it doesn't fit his personality. He's more of a Raul. Actually, he's more of a Lysander, but I'll confuse myself that way. I like the platinum, almost-white hair color, and I want to keep it kind of short. But I want something special about it. The darker side sections aren't quite it. I should have realized Raul would have to be *pretty* when I designed him. He is the offspring of a genetically superior being.
tempestuously: (nayami: satoshi)
I have this horrible sinking feeling that I did my entire clip packet wrong, and I would care about this more if I wasn't dead tired from busting my ass all week. Their way sounds archaic anyway. Computers are where it's at.

Reading the FMA makes e sad, not so much because of the wank but because half the net thinks that everyone should find it funny when a group or indvidual waste the time of others. There's pranks and then there's asshattery. I'm too tight-wound for these things. I'm glad I got out of that fandom when I did.

I want to hear about a Naruto preview at Otakon. They still haven't announced who Naruto is and the Toonami premiere is right on the horizon. On that note, I drew a puppy-Sasuke during my lunch break. He looks tarded. As soon as I find my camera, I can post the bad image. I have this great artist vision of posting Sasuke, Asuran, Kiba, and Satoshi as puppies since they are my angst pups. Kaiba used to be included but I've decided he doesn't quite fit the requirement. To be a puppy, you have to be semi-sane and deeply depressed or just prone to life suckage. Kaiba's semi-sane but I doubt he's depressed and his life is actually pretty good once Gozaburou dies. So he's just Kaiba until I think of a cute name to give him. I refuse to use Dragon for obvious purposes. Other notable puppies include Spike from BtVS, Eiri, Tao Ren, and Tsuzuki. But as they aren't currently on my mind, they get put on the back-burner. Oh, I also consider Raito my puppy but that I can't explain at all. He's my twisted puppy.

I think I'm going to use my "Homewrecker" song in a montage about Asuran, featuring Kira vs. Shinn, Cagalli vs. Meer, and Lacus vs. Gil just because of "Now, honey, I'm a Christian, but if you keep it up, I'm going to go to kicking your pretty little butt." That and I have zany fantasies about Lacus thwacking Gil for screwing with her Asuran's head. If I had cosplay skills, I would try for her next year, but I think her outfits are way out of my league.
