tempestuously: ([hg] come to finish me off sweetheart?)
Sob. I won't be able to see HP7 tonight probably so I will probably be avoiding my FL until I do see it. I am so looking forward to some trio action too, particularly Ron/Hermione, which is my love~.

Also, work's changes are taking slightly more getting used to than I expected. :( Ah well, we'll work out the kinks soon enough.
tempestuously: ([ph] if bird or devil)
I has True Blood to marathon. I spent most of yesterday watching Dollhouse, which is much better than I thought, even if the idea is still mostly creepy. I also watched a few episodes of the Middle Man and am fairly certain that Wendy and I share the same super power.

Oh and went to see Half-Blood Prince again. I paid more attention to Draco's story this time because I think Felton's acting in this was beautiful. They also showed the New Moon trailer, which involved Dana telling me to shut up and not ruin this for her with my Twilight bitching, and I admit the were looked cool. Giant wolves are always an A++ with Nayami.

Now to find a way to force my father to let me watch Frost/Nixon.

I like my new name and default icon. I went to the store and spent about $20 buying things to adhere my Geass items to the wall, only to learn the items don't work. Now I have to go and buy other stuff later. I also need to see if the bank machine will stop being a bastard and let me transfer money around my account. I have done virtually nothing all day. We call this OCD: Geass Style. I think it's reached unhealthy levels.

Now I blather on about RP stuffs because I'm bored and restless. )

And now back to the scanning and the waiting and the whining.
tempestuously: ([loveless] don't make me come over there)
I might do my con report when I return from work. I first need to buy a scanner to scan all of my pornilicious doujin. I haven't yet decided whether I will remain on my general Net hiatus until Saturday/Sunday, with the exception of writing stuff in this journal.

I finished the final HP 7. While I was insanely irritated with the first few chapters or so and while I will say a few inconsistencies and moments of lovey-dovey stupidity that made me shake my head at Rowling, I fully admit to loving it. Just in case it sounds spoilery ) I will not bash it in the least. However, I do look forward to checking out some hardcore wank upon the end of my hiatus.
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] will you defeat your demons)
I am just writing this to let people know I am back from Otakon. It was full of awesome and win, aside from my hotel bitches who spent all of Saturday reading HP like dorks. But I got some of the best Geass doujin in the world, two of the voice figures, lots of pretties to stick on my wall, all of the released manga (not Nightmare of Nunnally), the Ashford artbooks, saw a beautiful Kallen cosplayer and a fine Lelouch cosplayer and best of all, got accosted by Bandai's industry spy while waiting for Seki to sign my Gravitation poster.

I've never been privy to the official announcement of the licensing of one of my favorite series so this was very interesting. But I did love the part where Bandai U.S. assured us that Pizza Hut will continue to support the Rebellion in the U.S. Yes, in those words. They are well aware of what American fans have been saying about the show. Also, the announcement of showing Geass on TV did not say "American" broadcast; it said "international." ANN mispoke. I was there. A few fans and I made damn sure Bandai knows we want all the DVD extras, including the DVD booklets and the picture dramas. It's going to be fun dealing with the final two episodes when it comes to subbers, but other than that, I knew Bandai was going to get Geass around this point, and I am insanely excited about buying the animation-restored/rechecked DVDs. Also, it was great fun to watch Geass at Otakon and hear a bunch of guys go "NO ___ put down the gun" when a certain character showed up in the episode preview. Hah! I love being around Geass fans so the excitement that tore through the air when the Geass announcement came up was intense. I was not expecting so many to care. Guess Geass is making an impression after all. How I love my Geass.

I also chatted it up some about Seki with Maki Murakami and fully enjoyed both the AMV contest (almost all my favorites won) and the masquerade. Harry Potter Release Night was also amusing, as was hanging with the CFUD peeps in the artist gallery and having a super-quick chat with [livejournal.com profile] silver_huskey.

In conclusion, I am now avoiding the Internet until I finish Harry Potter and possibly until the final two episodes of Geass are released. SPOIL ME FOR GEASS AND YOU FUCKING DIE!!!

Dear sweet FL,

I have put you on a special filter to separate you from communties. Yet you still manage to spoil me. I am le sad and will be living at my RP for the rest of the day until I venture off to Baltimore tomorrow. I still have no idea how I'm getting ahold of this book.
tempestuously: ([es21] eye of the tiger... SHARK)
I again have Net time and sanity so you get review posts.

But first a note from Tom: "Peter O'Toole scares the shit out of me!"

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix )

Ratatouille was also a delight, with all its plotlines going at once, the awesome food critic played by O'Toole, the dorky camaraderie between the protagonist Linguini and his "little chef" the rat, the crazy antics of the main chef, the adult human interspersed within -- the small penis joke XD -- the wild camera angles, the rendering of the food and of course the completely unexpected ending. This is definitely more than a movie about a rat who wants to be a chef.

Oh and the baseball game I went to last night, they won. Yay.
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] tragic oral sex mishap)
Randomly, my father and I decided that with the amount of witches/wizards that live around Harry Potter, they must have really enjoyed watching him get treated like crap on a daily basis. You guys really couldn't ever cut him a break?

Code Geass spoilers are shiny and also awful. I will discuss them here. )

As for Terra e, I think my not!hatred of Keith has just been transferred onto Tony and now exists in the form of real hatred. I enjoy the new OP images, although the song can hardly compare to Uberworld. Stripping Keith, Keith fondling his blood earring from Sam, Keith and Jomy reaching for each other symbolically but being unable to connect/touch, sad Jomy in space, more deceptive but obligatory gay between Jomy and Blue and the indication that Physis and Blue remain driving forces in Jomy and Keith's lives. I also think those scary flying children in the new OP are Tony's bunch when he gets older. I know they're not going to, but Tony and Jomy need to war. I also hate the new ending because the song is boring and I miss the episode recaps. It just reminds me of a bastardization of Wolf's Rain with Rain running along.

Let's talk about actual episode now. )

So afraid to check out the newest Naruto. *whimpers*

Ok, the deleted scenes and extras for the Goblet of Fire DVD reach new levels of wrongness. Aside from Snape dashing about to all the locked cars and deducting points from liplocked students, the inhumanely creepy goth rock band that plays at the Yule Ball and the headache-inducing Hogwarts theme song, you also get Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Radcliffe interaction. Disturbing interaction. I don't know what was worse. Fiennes constantly touching himself. Poor audio that made it sound like Daniel said "His body is FANTASTIC." Or Fiennes saying "When it really comes down to it, what you have is an older man who's tied up a younger boy and is humiliating him." GOD FIENNES! It was twisted enough without you having to beat to death the pedophilia motif.

Needless to say, this is my favorite HP DVD ever!

Adobe Premiere is being slightly less of a dick, but we'll see how it fares when I add in the Soubi and Kio parts. )

Took the car out for spin with the sun roof down for the first time ever. I might eventually get around to taking pictures, but I doubt it. I don't know. I think it needs something. Probably Tenimiyu. That would shut up the boy in his tricked, sunroof-having sports car that just had to blast the Milkshake Song at top volume whenever we hit a red light together. He can have his milkshake, I'll have my victoly.

For my Yugioh fans, Yugioh does The Two Towers and Return of the King. Highlights include Yami as Aragorn, Bakura as Frodo and two special guests as Theoden and Sam. May the crossover orgy begin.

......argh

EDIT: I fail at my own obsession. Stupid switching lyrics.

I love how when LJ starts cooperating again, my Firefox goes on a one-browser crusade against the site. And Google. Just those two. I don't even want to know.

Sasuke-neko is no longer allowed to spend the night in my room, as she kept me awake all night scratching everything in sight and made me late to work.

Recap on Goblet. On my trip with Tom, we had an amusing Snape, courtesy of the theatre staff. He mocked the little kiddies when they couldn't perform his magic tricks. For their budget, he wasn't so bad. Much better than my last Goblet trip, where I had fangirls screaming "OH MY GOD" when Harry Potter took off his shirt and got in the tub. For God's sakes, women, it's Harry Potter! The fangirling never stopped, as everything single scene was cause for some sort of squealing or sobbing. They sobbed through the last 15 minutes of the movie. I wanted to slap them.

This trip just had a massive argument over the quality and significance of fanfiction. One of Tom's friends claimed it was worthless writing because it involved using the characters and worlds another had already established. I pointed out that published authors also do this, like the author of "Wicked" or the fantasy writers who do their own take on established stories/characters. He said there was a line but couldn't explain what that meant. It got pretty heated. I told him he was generalizing an entire genre based on a few (ok, maybe a lot of) crappy examples. He said as an English major, he found fanfiction a perversion of the author's genius. I think this is where I snapped. I wanted to knock this around in [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants just to see the reaction, but I guess I'll test-drive it here first. What's your take on the whole argument on the merit of fanfiction?

*sniffles* I'll never finish my icons by premiere date.
tempestuously: (nayami: just play the game)
Work's been killing me, which is why nobody's been seeing me the past few days. I think it's almost under control now. Either that or I'm going to stop being a whiny wuss and letting it consume me in how tired I am. I will be with the Tom tonight, but might come back sometime mid-day to write stuff. Saw Goblet. Was good. Longer report when LJ stops being a little bitch. Remember, not in a bad mood. Just really tired when I come home and not wanting to do anything but slug about.

I really really want the new Avatar. ZUKO vs. ZHAO nummy!
tempestuously: (nayami: destiny)
No, I did not get to write today. But I will! I also have to plot through my camp idea so I can do something with that soonish. Instead, I spent the day searching for Harry Potter materials. I found me the shirts stuff, but the tie was a hard find. I'm still so-so on the one I finally selected. I could have found something closer, but it cost $30 and seeing as I'm a woman, I couldn't justify spending that much on a tie I'd wear once. My father also freaked out at me for suggesting it. I wish I could find a Hogwarts patch. All in all, I spent around $30 on the ensemble, if Tom and I don't have at least three in our group, I shall cry.

I have a nifty pic to upload later of Sasuke-neko and Nikki going at it. Sasuke's eyes are glowing this horrifying green the whole time. My brother and I kept joking at calling it queasy Sharingan, this occuring right after Dad watched last week's Naruto episode and insisted Haku was a female. This is the most surprised I've seen him since he went on about how hot Shuichi was in an anime store, and I had to point out Shuichi was a guy. I cheered him up by telling him Haku makes many boys question their sexuality. Then I scared him some more by joking that ANTM's Kimmie makes me question mine. XD

I would kill to know why my computer is being so slow, especially the Internet. Loading any image pages or camp-related things are murdering the poor thing. It has enough memory and I'm not running anything resource-demanding. I don't get it.
tempestuously: (nayami: otp only not)
Would you believe I almost wrote school instead of work in the subject line?

Sorry to those who usually talk to me, but I've been one sick puppy for the past few days. I've missed most of my shows, GX included, because I've just been lying around in bed, being miserable. ARGH, I can't believe apps are already up again. I missed the notice! All of that research for nothing! *rips out hair* I think the cold's gone now. Probably got it from Dad. But today's a Friday and I got off work early so plenty of catch-up time if I'm not a shy-ass.

Sasuke-neko sure lives up to her name. Nikki (my most vicious cat) showed up when I was giving Sasuke her medicine and Sasuke starts struggling to get out of my arms. I figured she wanted to make a break for it. But no, she jumps away from me and dive-bombs Nikki. Nikki bolts and then Sasuke chases after her and pounces on her, kicking and scratching. Nikki is just flabbergasted by the whole thing since she's usually the one who picks on Louis (my chubby cat). Eventually Nikki recovers from her shock and bitch-slaps Sasuke to the other side of the room. This is where I step in and save my kitten from certain death. But I have a feeling this fight is going to reach Stage 2 when I'm at work. Sasuke, why must you be an arrogant bitch?

Speaking of Naruto, Sssh I'm about to spoil you. )

Tom wants me to hit up his place for Harry Potter. I said I might if he breaks out his Harry costume again. I guess this means I'll have to whip me up something Hermione-like and curl my hair or something. Don't know who can be our Ron. We need more crazy friends.

*sobs* So much camp-reading to do before I can even catch up.
