I love how when LJ starts cooperating again, my Firefox goes on a one-browser crusade against the site. And Google. Just those two. I don't even want to know.

Sasuke-neko is no longer allowed to spend the night in my room, as she kept me awake all night scratching everything in sight and made me late to work.

Recap on Goblet. On my trip with Tom, we had an amusing Snape, courtesy of the theatre staff. He mocked the little kiddies when they couldn't perform his magic tricks. For their budget, he wasn't so bad. Much better than my last Goblet trip, where I had fangirls screaming "OH MY GOD" when Harry Potter took off his shirt and got in the tub. For God's sakes, women, it's Harry Potter! The fangirling never stopped, as everything single scene was cause for some sort of squealing or sobbing. They sobbed through the last 15 minutes of the movie. I wanted to slap them.

This trip just had a massive argument over the quality and significance of fanfiction. One of Tom's friends claimed it was worthless writing because it involved using the characters and worlds another had already established. I pointed out that published authors also do this, like the author of "Wicked" or the fantasy writers who do their own take on established stories/characters. He said there was a line but couldn't explain what that meant. It got pretty heated. I told him he was generalizing an entire genre based on a few (ok, maybe a lot of) crappy examples. He said as an English major, he found fanfiction a perversion of the author's genius. I think this is where I snapped. I wanted to knock this around in fanficrants just to see the reaction, but I guess I'll test-drive it here first. What's your take on the whole argument on the merit of fanfiction?

Most plans for Netting last weekend were destroyed by the frequent trips Tom and I took to various shopping places. Our quest was to find as much food as possible, which nobody ate since everyone at the party (aside from not being in costume) had already eaten. The party turned out different than I expected, with Tom's coworkers stealing him for most of it. I should blame that on Katamari though. The rest of the party was too entranced to notice his absence. I made the King of the Cosmos fire lasers at me. Tom also recorded my Yugioh: Dawn of the Duel (yes, I had to use the cheesy 4Kids title) on his computer so we could all laugh at Eric Stuart trying to sound like less of an ass. He fails. There was also Grave of the Fireflies, which is the most depressing anime known to man. I knew it would be depressing, but that just reached a whole new level. I was so pissed at Seita for not going back to his aunt, even when his sister was dying. We also interrupted our Halloween party to go see Wallace and Grommit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I love how spontaneous our parties are. W & G had bunnies, lots and lots of bunnies. I like bunnies. I guess that made it a better movie than Santa's Slay about how Santa was the son of Satan and had only been nice due to a bet he made with an angel over shuffleboard. Wow...Uh, Tom passed out (on me) during W & G and everyone had a good laugh. He made such an adorable Harry Potter, even if his scar was barely visible.

I bought Gankutsuou and complained about how Franz sounded too gay. I like everyone else. The guys kept laughing whenever I mentioned Franz had a fiance. It is rather funny.

Also, the new Gravitation, you can die. You can go to hell and die. Ryuichi/Shuichi makes me want to barf out my spleen. Shuichi would never cheat on Yuki!! This is worse than fanfiction. I want it to just stop. Hell, bring back the demon spawn child if it will keep Ryuichi from becoming a bastard and Shuichi from becoming even more of an ass.

Gots to take the Sasuke-neko to her vet today. Maybe then I can net andcamp and stuff.

How come my cable's out but my Internet's working this morning? That ain't right.

Sasuke-neko is doing much better now. I know this will all fall apart once I take her to the vet today. She loves her toy mousie, which I dubbed Itachi because of how she snuggles it, sleeps with it, licks it, and then suddenly tries to rip its head off. Sasuke-neko is so confused. I tried to call her Sasuke-chan for a while, hoping that will help me reconcile my wish to name her Sasuke despite her not being a male. It didn't work as I've now relapsed into Sakura-styled "Sasuke-kun" with her. She's already starting to respond to it. Her ears perk. I find it funny that no matter how I tell people I'm all right with my insanity and I can be just as fangirlish if I want as long as it doesn't bother them, I still can't manage to tell the people who gave me the cat what I'm calling it. But I also feel bad about lying. So I've started avoiding the question when asked. I like the name, and I think it suits her. It's just fun to say. But explaining to the norms why I gave a Japanese MALE name to my female cat is not something I look forward to. Alas.

I'm trying to make a birthday cake for the birthday fox today. But I don't have the right supplies and with my car in the shop, it might be hard to convince my sane father to take me shopping for blue writing gel and orange sprinkles/sparkles. I'm practicing my kyuubi symbol for the moment.

I'll never get back to my manga journal, even though I'm reading them again. I go find Black Cat now.
