Bastard Internet decided to buck me for a few hours due to a power outage. All I have to say is that it's very lucky it waited until 10 minutes after Avatar to have its spaz fit.

Zuko thinks he's Sasuke. It's sweet really. But if what went down was sincere, that makes Azula a much sweeter sister than Itachi. Also the not horribly slaughtering Zuko's entire clan too. I know so many shippers are pissed. Good they know how I felt watching the first half of that final episode. I convinced myself a brain slug had crawled into Zuko's head. I was not happy. But in Avatar's blindingly obvious attempts to play Naruto (are they actually using chakra now?), things got a lot more interesting. All and all, I like.
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] suicide for one)
I love this icon. LuLu is so very special. I love how happy he looks about blowing his brains out.

I very much dislike it when Nickelodeon decides it's going to start playing the new episode of Avatar five minutes early so that when I turn to the channel at the proper time, I'm in a world of confusion. But mmm Zuko needs icons for this episode. I so saw that ending coming.

Caught up with Heroes. Is is bad that I get the painter and that guy whose father died confused? I think so. I still hate the cheerleader. She's so damsely worthless. Hiro and his new girlfriend made me sad.

Geass: Limited gay subtext this time around. Unless you count Millay, who's completely gay for Shirley. Too bad she has an arranged marriage. Also too bad that Shirley is ga-ga over LuLu. LuLu made the cutest noise ever when his father turned on him when he was a widdle princling. I guess LuLu is not the extremist I thought since he does have deep attachment to his sister. Also, C.C. looks hotter in the Zero costume than Lelouch. I'm bored of watching Britannia slaughter the Elevens. Can we have some actual fighting between the groups for once? Even watching LuLu get PWNED is something.

Stomach achey again. I wonder what that's all about. I bet if I thought long enough, I could figure it out.

ETA: I'm very happy I missed the next Avatar episode preview. Seriously, Zutara can DIE!!!
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] all fun and games before)
Are we going to watch the new Avatar on TurboNick despite being horribly spoiled, oooh yes.

Death Note is still awesome. Raye is hotter than ever in the anime and I just love the way everything plays out. DGrayman is still a "I'll watch it when I get around to it" thing. I dislike when this happens to my current anime since it usually means I end up dropping them for a while and then marathoning or dropping for a long time until someone tells me the show's gotten good or dropping them all together.

Now let's talk LuLu. The more cliched Code Gay Ass gets, the more I am amused. Someone needs to come up with a truly fabulous name for LuLu's ZERO get-up. Because ripping off Gundam names and designs is just not cool. You're only allowed to have one. I was right about LuLu upping his gay ratio to superhero level. That save of Suzaku was possibly the gayest pose I've seen in a Clamp anime, well bloodless gay pose anyway. I do wonder what Lelouch is going to do if he keeps wasting all his Geass power on these trivial things if it's true that he can only use his power once per person. I'm also curious how many more Clamp-alikes are we going to get. To date we have: not!Kamui, not!Syaoran, not!Kotori and not!Kurogane. I think we need a not!Fai. I'm not Fai's biggest fan but he's hot and I'm shallow and really that's all my love for this show is about. That and LuLu being awesome. I was most put out he did not sex up Suzaku. Most put out indeed. The Kamui/Syaoran pairing is one I've waited for all my life. *dies laughing*

Also, new Naruto developments. Only a few things to say about that. )
tempestuously: ([not!kamui] all ur base)
Sis is not going with to RennFest. There goes my whole family fun time idea. I regret.

The live action Tenipuri movie just creates this weird emptiness in me. I think it's because I see the actors but they're not singing and some part of me keeps wanting them to but they don't. The special effects make me laugh though. And I love the new Ryoma.

Did I mention in yesterday's Code Geass rambles that Suzaku stole Fafner's flight suits because he totally did. He must have raided poor Kazuki's closet. Also, all of my Lelouch icons shall refer to him as Not!Kamui for the crack of it all.

Avatar, I'm not sure how to feel. It was an emotional episode but it was dragging a bit for me until the Teen Girl Squad showed up. I love ninja Ty Li. Bro pointed out to me that they couldn't be the Teen Girl Squad since they lacked a fourth member but I had a backup for that one.

Presenting the Teen Fire Squad starring
-Ty Li as Cheerleader.
-Azula as Whats-her-face
-Mai as So-and-so
and....
-Zuko as THE UGLY ONE!

Do hold your applause. I need to make icons first.

I was thinking about Death Note the other day and how awesome and original idea it was and how the mangaka never truly explored the whole psychology of what Light does and whether he's right or wrong, which I think would have made the story even better. I think that's what held me through Death Note, even when I started to stop caring, the sheer potential for what was laid out. Light might have done everything because he was still bored but as he puts it, the rest of the world had to make their own conclusions and were secretly siding with him. I think that alone is worth pondering. I would have liked us to meet one of Kira's fans, who wasn't madly in love with him but just felt that what he was doing was Justice. Not someone who knew a victim of a crime. Not someone who was spared. Just an ordinary person who deep down believed that all of the worst criminals should die and that what Light was doing would make the world a better place. It's disappointing that so many take Death Note at face value when the world it proposes is full of intrigue.

Same as my take on those Tsubusa fans who need to stop screeching that Clamp ditch X world. You can have your porny KuroFai fun while we learn about the happy vampire/hunter family. I don't want to be snippy but I just don't get how a work that is, at its basic level, derivative can be held so much higher than works that were at one time semi-original. You know what this tells me, it's time to stick with the icon comments and glaze over the rest of this fan stuff.
tempestuously: ([avatar] bitch please)
I swear if I have to read one more "I'm a die hard Zutaran but..." post about Jin, I'm going to smack someone. Nobody cares about your damn shipping. Must you idiots let it rule your entire view of the show? And that stupid teenage bimbo (I know she had to be a teenage bimbo from the idiocies spewing from her mouth) going and saying that this episode sucked because it wasn't fast-paced or plot-involved. The only reason she felt that way was because she didn't understand the message it was trying to get across, especially Mako's tribute. I admit Aang's tale was a bit lame and Momo's was pure fluff, but the others were not childish by far and all about exploring the characters. I really want to hit that girl. I bet she's another stupid Zutara fan too.

I owe people money, but the bank is closed. Looks like I'll have to go pick up some from the ATM when I go to work in about 15 minutes. Watch me find nothing I need.

Why isn't the subbed episode of Ouran 26 out yet? I'm not watching 25 without 26.

Naruto did a superb job with Jiraiya last night. I'm very impressed at how much they managed to keep in it: the perving, naked Naruko, the bloody nose, the touching of Naruto's poor vulnerable body and the porn. Not one thing cut. And if they cut some blood, I so don't care. Also, they got us a theme song: Haruka Kanata. So the opening animation may not be quite up to snuff but hey theme song.
tempestuously: ([avatar] serene)
Filler episode = best Avatar ever. No not really but Zuko was sooo cute. I just wanted to squeezle him forever and ever. Even cuter than when he was a child.
tempestuously: ([blackcat] what innuendo?)
Saving forever and ever because of the awesomeness. I almost cried. Axel...

Also summary on the latest Avatar episode as told to Graham. Beware the crack. )

Realize the episode was infinitely more awesome than that and most of the above is a lie.

So weekend plans fell through like a big lead weight and now we are both depressed and bored. Someone save our souls.
tempestuously: ([avatar] not like other girls)
Going to do the work thing soon. Just finished watching the Avatar special. It was awesome. Much better than the one we got a few months ago. They even showed Sokka's talents in this one, and Toph was in her best form. Now for the slash. ) I'm so glad to hear they might be returning to a regular Avatar schedule now that the regular fall season is upon us.
tempestuously: (amanecer: larxene pwns you)
So mad. Prince of Tennis dub removed before I could get a sneak peak. Now I'll have to catch it off the site. ;_; How I love the dub haters. Bitch bitch bitch.

Posting ideas of note for future:

1. Asking for scans from CoM novel. I know I saw it somewhere before.
2. Post on why Naruto is a religious parable, featuring Sasuke as Luficer (sign of the Beast baby) and Naruto as Jesus. Still haven't decided on our Judas yet.
3. Post on why Sasuke could become an anti-hero. Also containing why Sasuke never held true allegiance to Konoha but rather Team 7. In other words, Sasuke owes Konoha NOTHING. Yeah, you heard me. Nothing.
4. I'll think of something else later. More bitching about my blinding hatred for Zutara. Not so much because Zutara fans attack Kaaang fans with some of the worst reasoning I've ever seen. "Katara is like his mom." Not because almost the entire community is obsessed with it so that it's practically the "official" pairing. Not because there is NO CANONICAL evidence whatsoever. Wait, there is Winter Solstice. I will say that the interaction in Winter Solstice was something. But last time I checked that entire fight was about Aang. They are fighting over Aang. -_- No, it's because Zutara is cliched, and a classic bad-boy/anti-hero and tough-girl/motherly chick. To each their own of course. But I shouldn't have to put up with Zutara this and Zutara that in every other comment of friggin' episode discussions. God, I don't think I've ever *hated* a pairing this much in my life.

I believe Kishimoto and the Avatar creators are secretly stealing the others' ideas. Naruto now features elemental affinities. Is it so coincidental that Avatar explains that lightning is the purified form of fire control and that Sasuke (boy with Fire affinity) also has talents with lightning? I think not. On Avatar's side, it now features magical foxes and who could forget Avatar State AKA Kyuubi mode. I'm so hoping Zuko finds Appa before Aang and the gang.
tempestuously: (nayami: zuko)
People need to stop making fun of Zuko and his emo. His acting really gets to me when he's really hurting. When he was roaring at that storm, you could really *feel* the emotion. I like when Zuko acts his age. No matter how pissy and arrogant he can be, he's still an angry, hurt teenager deep down. I do hope the poor dear doesn't fry himself on that mountain top.

People also need to stop bitching at Toph. She's bitchy because her element is earth. She's tough like the earth. It is natural for those associated with the earth to be strong-willed and not easily deterred from their path. The earth is not a giving element like water and air. Nor is it destructive like fire. It simply stands its ground, as Toph tells us throughout the episode. Now I know where Haruka (and my Erik) get it. Heh.

I guess I can use this view to re-examine Katara as well. The reason she's so dynamic could be the contribution of her element. Water is always changing and can easily go from a gentle brook to the fierce rapids, depending where you stand. I can forgive her sudden burst in power if I relate it back to this idea of the inability to truly predict the path of water. I hope it's a view that might be applied ot Sokka too, if only for just a short while.

As for Zuko, his element puts him in the danger of being quickly burnt out. Fire can easily take down almost anything, but once it eats up all its oxygen and material sources, it doesn't have much left. I would also argue with the one firemaster's views that all fire does is destroy. What about the heat used to cauterize wounds? What about the heat used to keep people alive during the cold nights? What about the trees that only release their seeds when bathed in flames? Fire is vicious but without it, change oculd not occur. On that note, I just love the idea of having lightning be a purer form of fire since its more precised and contained.

And now back to the overprotective stalker and his pantless charge. Oh Fakir, how I love you. Let me count the ways.

I finally broke $5,000 of my own cold hard cash in the bank yesterday. It was a momentous occassion that required a party, but unfortunately I had work, meaning I had to drive out to the middle of nowhere in rain so hard I couldn't see two inches in front of me and that caused me to hydroplane a total of three times when I was only going three miles per hour. This is what I get for wearing jeans and t-shirt to a Christian school celebration.

I am trying very hard not to journey to Walden this weekend since I have probably more than 10 manga I haven't read since Acen and buying more is bordering on lunacy. Everything fell off my walls due to my dumb cat and my floor is literally buried in a good square yard of manga/DVDS/anime magazines right now. I should clean it, but I'm not up for my monthly adventure yet.

Whenever I go to the Avatar community and see it ruled by Zutara fans, I begin to understand how the het fans feel when they venture into FMA/Naruto communities. Zuko learning water-bending is just going to make this five billion times worse. I can see I will have to kill people again.

Killing will commence after new Avatar and miscellaneous anime I need to catch up on.
tempestuously: (patosan: guh? wtf?)
Holy shit, Avatar! Holy shit.

Um...Toph friggin' rocks. As do every one of Azula's bitches, especially Tai Li. Three-way fight was hot. As cool as the group fight was, I would have preferred it as the three-way fight. I love whenever Zuko and Aang work together. There's just so much tension between them. It's beautiful and Aang's pure spirit just makes it all the more complicated. I'm starting to not like Katara. I hate how she's almost as strong as all the villains. Not sure why I'm starting to dislike her when Toph isn't much different, and I love Toph immensely. I guess Toph's badassery just makes sense to me, while Katara's seems more of a woman-power thing. I really really hate her healing powers. Such stereotypical Mary-Sue abilities. My annoyance could also arise from my insane hatred of Zutara. It would be funny if this episode introduced some Zutoph fans. It's such crack. Or maybe Soli. It would be hot. Come on.

I'm amazed at how good Avatar seems to be these past episodes. Usually it sucks for a while, and then has one or two episodes that are worth anything. It's staying pretty true to its main storyline for once while still keeping the corny humor I love.

I also loved... )

Off to X-men now.

Crack realization of last night: Sai is Sasuke's Nobody. Yep.

So work has been eating my life again. It demands my presence once more today. Bleh.

Things I ranted about within the past few days and will probably continue to harp on until people acknowledge
-Sexualizing a character's canon without any factual support. NO!
-Hating the Naruto dub just because it altered a few inconsequential lines. I'm sorry Dattebayou isn't the friggin' heart of the series, people. And calling it "absolutely terrible" is just exaggerating no matter how you look at it.
-Saying that Sasuke never cared about Team 7 or regarded them as his friends. Yes, the whole "You are my *friend* and so I must kill you" was just him talking out of his ass.
-Saying Sasuke looks like a gay-ass pirate. My brother said samurai. =P
-Losing my DNAngel 11 on my way back from the con. Considering I will probably not see this in the U.S. for a while now, this saddens me.

In the positive news, I finally saw "Walk the Line," and it was good. Solid and focused and quite touching. The latest episode of Avatar made up for the ten kinds of suck Avatar has been lately (I missed the Earth Kingdom Tournment so I don't know about that one). I love all the zany theories that are now flying about on Zuko's mother and Zuko's grandfather. There's my Mother's Day comment for you. I think I love Azula more than ever. She's just pure unapologetic evil. People need to make some hot bases from that episode without covering them with bad text like I do half the time. Also, finally a working fan in my room so another plus.

Father found the wall'o'smut with the AkuRoku picture and the SoraRoku picture. The first he called "blatant porn" and the second he just gave me a funny look. As my brother said, had he realized who the characters were and their relative ages and such, he might have been a little more weirded out. He and my brother also watched the latest Naruto dub with me and were urging Sasuke to rip off the Sound guy's arms. I have blood-thirsty relatives.

I'm thinking about a quickie con report and just reposting the huge batch of the rest of my pictures and the swag list when I get back from work.
tempestuously: (angiechow: never fade away)
New layout. Yes, tis obnoxious and probably not the most attractive thing I could have attempted but it makes me happy so I don't mind everything else. I would have prefered a larger header but since I'm borrowing someone else's resizing would make it look crappy. That and the Nobody symbol kicks ass. You could kill somebody with it. I wonder if the Organization zippers are shaped like it. That would be amusing. I need to make an angstier AkuRoku icon that doesn't look so identical to the header image. Also, yay for Within Temptation lyrics of AGONY.

I guess it's time to stop slacking off and hit up Tom's place. No clue how I'm going to find anything to wear.

Oh, Avatar was crap last night. Utter crap. Even the Blue Spirit couldn't salvage it.
tempestuously: (sporkyadrasteia: rise)
So anyways I'm in a masochist mood and want to worsen my situation with the Gravitation 2 chapters? Read something about Eiri and it got me all interested. *likes seeing her favorite characters in pain for some bizarre reason* So anyone who's got scans, they would be appreciated. I don't even really need translations either. What I come up with in my head probably makes just as much sense as what's actually going on.

I need to watch Avatar again. I don't think I was paying enough attention to it while hanging out with Sis, especially since I missed the HUGE revelation at the end that everybody's just gaga about.

Eventually I will get around to watching XXXholic and Host Club. Stupid KH obsession limiting my ability to think about anything else for more than 10 minutes at a time.
tempestuously: (joannad: final distance)
Avatar's Azula continues to amuse me. I am more convinced than ever that she is truly the missing Uchiha sibling. I can just picture her and Itachi gathering to paint their nails and talking about torturing their brothers. She's even forming her own Atatsuki, which is a bit of a Charlie's Angels right now. I'm not crazy about Mae (what's this about Zuko? grr) but the circus performer seems a riot. Now that Azula has encountered the Avatar things should get even more interesting. I want to see Azula and Zuko battle over Aang. That would rock. Bumi is still one crazy old coot. He should hook up with that other Earthbending woman who told Aang about the frogs that heal people by sucking on them. I want one of the little octopi.

Sasuke's screams in the latest dubbed episode of Naruto are so delicious. Orochimaru is suitably perverted. Sakura was a bit grating, but that could have also been my irritation with the animation in the episode. I dislike the fighting-style animal immensely because it destroys details. I'm completely shocked at how much the Canadian YTV was allowed to get away with. I wonder if Toonami will play the same way during its two hours of Naruto next week. For a second, I thought Orochimaru said Sasuke's eyes were even cuter than Itachi's and had to rewind it to hear him say "keener." Itachi's voice...I'm still undecided. Right now a bit too bordering on rapist!Itachi and I don't like that.

Found two awesome AkuRoku fics on [livejournal.com profile] thedancinglight last night, which took on the deeper aspects of both Axel and Roxas and also lacked in smut. Why don't I want smut in the AkuRoku pairing? Because most of the people who focus on the smut don't explore the characters themselves. I wouldn't mind smut if it was paired with character interpretation. I think I found one author on [livejournal.com profile] rayemars journal that did this. Now if only I could hope to find some decent takes on SoraRiku, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I don't want to do my work today. ;_;
tempestuously: (cdq: what hurts most is being so close)
For some reason, I've been in Arcana mood all day. Don't really know why. Only that I wish someone actually did write the novel version, but I've realized for a good year that this was a pipe dream. I think it was the comic writer (yes, I forgot her name. stone me), her ability to make many-layered villains. Vincent was superb, but the whole other plot with Dominick and Tobias completely floored me. I saw the Yoshiki thing. Vincent is still one of the hottest semi-villains ever. And Caine was always nummy fanservice. Can't say that I didn't want to backslap Holden more than a few times. In succession. Some stuff was sudden, some was cliched, but all writers have their stumbles and then their grand victories. Arcana had more of the latter. So I pine yet again over it never being finished. Wah.

Saw Avatar. Wow, they couldn't have made a more Mary Sue character if they tried. Look, Zuko, I have scars too. Bite me. I'm just glad Zuko didn't open up *too much* to her. Humor Zuko works for me more than I expected. His frustration with Iroh was great. So much pity for Sokka and the musical stoners. It's sad that Sokka is the most intelligent of the good guys and he always gets ignored.

Also saw something unreal in a 7-Eleven. Three copies of Halo 2 for sale in a glass box. A glass box otherwise full of condoms. Discuss amongst yourselves. 0_o
tempestuously: (the bitch is back)
Note the 1st: Tsubasa!Kamui is Batman. No, seriously. He has a utility belt. And if Fuuma's pimpin' it out on a cycle, you know Kamui's gotta have some equally insane form of transportation. Not only that, the moves are straight Christian Bale out of Batman Begins. And why the hell does he need a thigh holster? Is Kamui packing these days?

Note the 2nd: Just because there's a new girl on the set of Avatar doesn't mean people should automatically start thinking "Hey, I wonder what it would be like if she and Sokka were an item." This is the exact thing that pisses me off about Zutara. There is no evidence! Ok, Zutara had the pirate episode. He taunted her with the necklace and teased her about "saving her from the pirates." I'm sorry people, that's not love in the air. That's blackmail. Zuko feels nothing for Katara. Nothing. She's just in the way of his goal: the Avatar. Zuko is entirely single-minded when it comes to things. He only has eyes for the Avatar. And if nutters fanwriters want it otherwise, they better come up with a good reason for him to give up chase rather just have Katara and Zuko instantly fall for each other. I usually love love-hate relationships, but only if the two interact on a steady basis and, I don't know, think about each other now and then. I don't think I've ever seen Katara or Zuko think about the other when not involved in combat. This is the same reason I barely see Zukka. The only possible canonical pairings at this time would be Zuko/Aang or Katara/Aang, and they just doesn't float my boat right now. As for Azual and Sokka, she would take all of the two seconds it takes to slap him around, and that would be the duration of any interaction they were to have. Moral of this story: many Avatar ships = random.

It reminds me of that joke I made to Rache the other day about how random pairings were driven by that state of fandom in X. I doubt it's true since random pairings had to exist before then. But that's the point where they really started to bug the hell out of me. Unless they involved Yuuto because Yuuto would do anyone.

Note the 3rd: If Kishimmoto decides to cheat me out of Sasuke yet again, I'm going to hunt him down and devour his soul.

I need people to talk about Rent with. ;_; I hate having an obsession all by myself. Going to see Pride/Predujice tonight. Might try to get Tom to come down to sent Rent tomorrow. Might also take sisters.

Dad is cooking a turkey right now just because we miss leftover turkey when we eat at someone else's house. It's kinda funny. I think he's going to make an entire Thanksgiving dinner tonight. We're just that awesome.

Movies I want to see:
1. Aeon Flux
2. Goodnight and Goodluck
3. Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe
4. Memoirs of a Geisha
5. Chicken Little (probably will miss this one)
6. Rent as many times as possible

I wanted to do more tonight but after several days of staying up too late and waking up too early, I had no energy. I passed out during the Avatar marathon. But I did get to show the family ninja!Zuko, who should be witnessed by the world. Also laughed at the idea of the X's, a blatant ripoff Disney's The Incredibles.

Maybe I'll do stuff when I return from the movie tonight.
tempestuously: (nayami: just play the game)
Work's been killing me, which is why nobody's been seeing me the past few days. I think it's almost under control now. Either that or I'm going to stop being a whiny wuss and letting it consume me in how tired I am. I will be with the Tom tonight, but might come back sometime mid-day to write stuff. Saw Goblet. Was good. Longer report when LJ stops being a little bitch. Remember, not in a bad mood. Just really tired when I come home and not wanting to do anything but slug about.

I really really want the new Avatar. ZUKO vs. ZHAO nummy!
